So funny that the media are making big efforts to link us with Nick Pope, don’t get me wrong he’s a decent keeper and shot stopper, but apparently Newcastle want to trade him in because he’s not effective enough with his feet to ball and his distribution.
So this is exactly the type of keeper we are looking for then since that is our game and we play out from the back.
That makes perfect sense to me.
Next.

Think we need to mix it up more in the prem. Few more long balls. On occasion even in the champ we almost got caught out tippy tappy.
Need to move forward a lot quicker and not back and sideways so much.

Wow, I find myself with Aus and not Opti on this. Anyone seen locust or frogs?
I enjoyed Farke's style last season. But I also thought Company's Burnley were good to watch in the Championship a couple of years ago. Unfortunately that same style saw them relegated and I fear Farke's style of last year will have the same negative result.
Can we please just focus on staying in the Premiership as an averagely watchable team rather than gutsy relegation fodder.
Pope knows this league. For a keeper who can't pass a football he commands his box and saves shots. I just want one of those types for a while.
Along with defenders who defend. Midfielders who bleed for the cause. And forwards who put enough balls in the back of nets to keep us in the Premiership.
Just a left field thought from me. is Ivan Toney enjoying the slower Arabian pace or would he like a challenge?

I seem to remember Aus that Meslier did the long ball on occasions when the opposition were very tight on our defenders.
I personally think we are getting better at playing out from the back and Mes was vastly improving on his distribution. Of course it is going to be harder in the the Premiership but I don’t want to see us become a route one football team and I don’t expect that to happen either.
Southampton with Martin tried to play Pep football but they were absolute rank amateurs at it and got rightly punished for it.

The tactics next season will be the same as this one:
Short ball to defence, back to GK, back to defence, to the wing backs, up the wings, cross and miss x 15 until one shot is converted into the back of the net.
We got caught out in 23/ 24 with this style of play and luckily last season we had better wingers with on-form James and Firpo and new signings Bogle and Solomon.
Solomon is hands down better than Summerville.

If we play same tactics even with spending 100 to 150 we are down.
We have to get better and quicker at playing out of defense or long ball.
Mez cost us 15 points and walking the league and after I told my dad in nov we would stomp this league by 15, a great lot of embarrassment for me.
The only time mez went long ball was the few games he was trying to save HIS number 1 spot. Else. He was useless.

Solomon is better than sums but this league is lethal. Even lowly teams and under performers like Devon, spam, Everton and spuds will run us ragged if we don’t recruit right and adjust. It is sooooooooooooooooo important that Farke is flexible and can change systems. Pool away is diff to Sunderland at home.

In my opinion we won’t be as tragic as the three teams that came straight back down, they were totally awful and to think that we will only survive the Premiership by playing hoof ball and parking the bus is completely underrating who we are and our potential.
I’m definitely not in the camp of playing rubbish football just to survive.
{Ed025's Note - i think you need to play sensible football to survive OP not hoofball. that means not taking chances playing around with the ball in your own penalty area and thinking all your defenders are Beckenbauer mate...sometimes you just have to clear your lines, you also need grafters who will track back as well as get forward when necessary because the standard of the better teams will hurt you unless you get in their faces, and lastly you need to take your chances when they appear, you might only get a couple and you have to be clinical, im not trying to teach my grandmother how to suck eggs here...just being realistic..

Ed i'm sure Daniel Farke will show some pragmatism in the Premiership but I can’t see him altering his style wholesale. It is the way he plays his football and I can’t see him changing completely as so to adapt. If this was the case then surely if in doubt the 49er’s would have searched for a coach who plays more defensive and counter attack football.
I don’t think we’ll be shy of grafters and the team will defend as well as attack.
Realism in football is only what one individual perceives it to be, having Man Utd and Spurs literally just outside the relegation zone is not what most would claim as realistic.
If Leeds recruit well this summer I think we’ll surprise a lot of the sceptics.
{Ed025's Note - i really hope so mate..

What I said Ed ?.

I agree with Ed and think farke and our system will fair well.
Farke system is basically Belisa but better in ever sense of the word. Better defensively, more direct and effectively going forward with better adaptability, plan b and subs.
If Belisa can do than farke can but better! We need good recuritment but I trust the people in charge.
I think we will be alright next season. Yes the gap is much bigger than last time we got promoted but we have a far better manager and recuritment team so I’m felling positive.
Leeds are back for good and nee golden age is incoming.
{Ed025's Note - amen to that Bermo..

Ed said Farke needs to adapt his system as did I. If he continues that formation and tactics we are down. Simple. Maybe in the past teams promoted. Have this how good are we aura. But trust me and history. Not that good in the prem. You think the last 6+ managers of promoted teams didn’t think they were good enough? Nah. They did. And they were wrong. As will Farke. If he and most of you don’t understand that you are deluded. It’s a big big black hole. Not many dodge it.

Good reply OP, I agree. There will be adaptation, but not wholesale change, and I think it will be enough.
