Cairns won't go. He was brought in to help with the 'home grown' requirements and on a fairly small wage so that won't change.

Cairns isn’t worth a mill and mes is worth closer to 15, sadly I think we’d struggle to get 5 million for bamford as well.
Noises I’m hearing is that a few big names could be out the door but I’m confident our recuritment will get it right.

Further to what Alf wrote, with regards to Cairns being a 'homegrown' player. Does anyone on here feel that we could/ should continue that trend?
With Guilavogui leaving, could we not welcome back Milner to fulfil a similar role.
And what are posters thoughts on bringing in Lewis Cook to replace Aaronson in the attacking midfield role.
Both are proven Premier League standard players, and both have the athleticism that Russell Martin spoke about requiring to compete in this league.

As for Milner, no thanks. Great player but too old and consistently injured last two seasons.

I think Guilavogui showed the benefits of picking up a relatively cheap experienced player that fits the squad and makes an impact on the players and environment. Doesn’t need to be an x Leeds player though! What we need is some very shrewd buys, 5/ 6 headlines and then squad strength with a mix of promising youth and experience. Signing Solomon would be my first job!

Baz who would of thought Forest would have done so well this season when narrowly avoiding relegation last season. Yes that is attributed to Nuno’s influence and their very demanding owner, but it’s still largely a bunch of players who flirted with relegation last season and Nuno, if he’s that good would be managing a Champions league team, would he not?
Or maybe he just got lucky like Farke did this season?
An optimist you are not Baz, but an eternal complaining pessimist you are.
As for relegation fodder for next season, there always will be a few teams that struggle, but they are not going to struggle as badly as the likes of the pathetic attempts of the teams that got promoted last season, they all deserved to be relegated in my opinion as their recruitment and approach to survive in the premiership was unbelievably poor.
It is most definitely not a given as some appear to think now, that newly promoted teams from the Championship will go straight back down but you do need to create a strong enough foundation with everyone involved totally aligned and committed to the cause.
