Farke is staying, so totally naff reporting by the Daily Fail last week to try and upset the LUFC applecart. Journalism at its worst.

Agree7 Disagree0

06 May 2025 07:00:47
As I’ve said before, journalists making news rather than reporting news which is what most of them do these days.

06 May 2025 09:37:45
we definitely spoke to at least 4 maybe 5 managers about the job so its more a case of them not wanting it than the journalism being naff. the journo was spot on.

06 May 2025 10:46:30
Well if that's the case Alf it doesn't show much confidence in Farke and is a disgraceful way to treat the man absolutely shocking.

06 May 2025 11:07:23
Yes alf. I think it would have been remiss for the 49ers not to have explored the alternatives. Different ways and views on taking leeds forward next season. I think farke was always in the pole position to continue. But it would be amazing if they only had a plan A.

06 May 2025 11:27:45
What Cuppa said . hence the silence from Mr Marathe and co for many, many days.

06 May 2025 11:55:26
It's not about what Farke has done, he was hired to get us promoted, that was job.
Six wins in 49 in the prem is concerning, regardless of reason
49ers won't want to take a risk if they can avoid it.

06 May 2025 12:02:45
Interesting Alf. Dosent go good being turned down for whatever reason by 4-5 managers. That means a likely struggle to replace Farke if need be at some point.

06 May 2025 12:11:40
A complete load of bs, they didn’t talk to anyone, I’ve not seen that being announced by our owners, just rubbish from a newspaper is all.
I surprised some of you blokes even entertain the tripe that is spewed out in newspapers.

06 May 2025 12:18:14
My view.

I think in all likelihood had we failed promotion Farke was probably gone.

When that looked a distinct possibility, the club set out to have someone lined up in readiness. This combined with looking for a manager for Rangers. They had all their irons in the fire so to speak.

06 May 2025 12:20:43
OP calm fella.

Owners aren't going to publically announce they are sounding out prospective alternative coaches to current incumbent, Farkey.

06 May 2025 13:49:46
Nail on the head there Aus! The biggest take away from all of this "possible shambles" (is it, or was it, or not? ) Is why we're we turned down by anybody? That alone sounds more alarm bells to me!

06 May 2025 14:30:09
Well where this differs is that yes it would have been very likely Farke would of been replaced had we not won promotion. The difference is that some others are trying to save face for their Farke out mantra if we had won promotion, that's the part that is nonsensical in my opinion. Sacking the coach who broke many Leeds United records, won the league and promotion.

Not even going to bother with your clap trap rubbish Baz about the owners keeping schtum in finding another coach for the Premiership.

Give me had factual evidence that this was the case, who was on their list to take over from Farke in the Premiership? and not some click bait journo’s fabricated nonsense and that prat from the Daily Snail.

06 May 2025 15:07:07
OP go and have a beer fella lol.

06 May 2025 15:09:48
I wonder what salary Farkey is on?

and what salaries Mr Marathe and co were offering other prospective coaches. not nearly enough perhaps!

06 May 2025 15:54:20
a few reasons why we were turned down including our chosen managers not wanting to risk a relegation scrap, not wanting to work with a data based recruitment model, hoping for other offers from preferred positions (incl. international jobs (Mourinho, Schmidt) , not being able to align on the package.

I don't think the 9ers ever held the position that they wanted Farke out regardless (unless we didn't get promoted) but they had a few preferences that they were willing to consider. if they didn't get their preferred manager then they were happy enough to stick. i'm sure they will also keep an eye on what happens and there may be changes yet but for now its Farke in.

06 May 2025 16:25:29
Good info Cuppa.

06 May 2025 18:14:37
Im not buying that Alf, there’s zero evidence that the 49er’s had a list of potential suitors to Farke for the Premiership but those suitors didn’t want the job because the risks of relegation?!
If you want to believe that then fair enough, but I really can’t understand why?

Our owners have rightly invested their trust in Daniel Farke but like with any club, if we are struggling very badly at the bottom of the league (which I doubt) come December, then his continuation maybe in question.

06 May 2025 19:51:10
Baz, why don’t you go have a beer and relax?
I’m just simply pointing out that there’s no evidence whatsoever to prove the 49er’s were actively looking for a replacement for Farke in the Premiership.
Just because some nicotine finger stained cretinous journalist says it’s so, we all have to believe it like sheep. ?

06 May 2025 20:16:46
It’s quite straightforward in as much as, if we didn’t get promoted this season Daniel Farke would have been replaced. But we’ve had a great season, winning the league, so he’s earned his place in the premiership. Got to give him a chance. But Alf you say we talked to 4 maybe 5 other managers, who all turned us down. Tell me in layman’s terms who they were, and their reasons for turning us down.

06 May 2025 22:17:07
C&J: Alfie clearly isn't going to know the answer to those questions, as he didn't lead the interview process.
It's a bit like Baz asking someone for their "source"! Pointless as it's the same media, tinterweb, word of mouth gossip etc etc as ever. None of us have a hotline to the boardroom, but share what we hear, or read, or see. Unless your Baz, and just make BS up. Pointless question if you think about it.

07 May 2025 22:05:39
Bright. Why have you taken it upon yourself to answer my question to Alf?
Valid question. Only this afternoon, in response to a poster’s question, he states, he’s not in the know, but knows a few that are. So I’m thinking maybe he’s privy to some insider information. Also why do you bring Baz into it?

08 May 2025 08:05:55
It's an open forum CJ, that's why.
I bring Baz into it as a point of reference to show another example of pointless questions. It's a standard approach for writing a statement to support a belief.
Any more pointless questions?
