Well thank god, the bloody awful IB is nearly over, but why the butterflies in my stomach, dodgy paella?
Nope, because it’s the LEEDSY part of the season!
We should be grateful that for past few seasons we have not been a club stuck in mid table mediocrity and always have something meaningful to play for.
I think it’s that awful chant which we’ve (L believe) stupidly adopted of…. “Leeds, Leeds are falling apart…. well you know how it goes.
I once read the brain doesn’t know the difference between excitement and fear in that the exact same neurons are fired whether you’re terrified, or lapping it up!
They tested this on a roller coaster ride, with people terrified of rides, heights, and asked them to scream whoo hoo for the whole ride, at the end of the experiment the vast majority weren’t scared!
So I’m screaming whoo hoo until the season end, have already identified a couple of bars showing swans game live out here in Tenerife. (Haven’t found Martyn yet)
I even prayed last night for Ethan to be fit and well, as I think he’s been a huge miss and as directly impacted on our results, but, truth be told, I don’t have a huge amount of credit with the big man upstairs, so sorry if he’s not fit.
Just got to whoo hoo myself through the next eight games and hope it’s only our supporters singing that dreaded chant.
Enjoy lads, it’s soooo much better than mid table mediocrity.

I will be relieved after tonight's Wales game if our players come through without injury. Apparently Ampadu is ahead of schedule and is close to full training. I just hope Gnoto's injury isn't to serious as well. Let's have a convincing win on Saturday to start the ball rolling to a successful run in.

I don't think your on your own with the sentiments and feelings 92. I'm thinking win all the home a couple of draws away 94 points should do it. But knowing our luck. ???.

Well said class it maybe be leedsy but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
25 Mar 2025 22:37:54
Leedsy yes, but it’s something that we have created for ourselves, believing that something will always go wrong,
An aura of misfortune since our so called successful past. Believe it and it will happen, it’s all self induced.
I sometimes wish that the Revie era never happened, who knows we might have been a more successful club in our history.
25 Mar 2025 23:18:11
Class interesting post as usual
and definitely of course better having something to plsy for ingoing for promotion over stress free mid table mediocrity
Though in EPL give me nowt to play for mid table stress free mediocrity all day over anxiety inducing R battles
even with the 1 billion per cent uber exiliharation of beating the R drop on final day, as what happened for Leeds at Brentford in 2022 final day of season.
25 Mar 2025 23:21:04
OP
Us Revie-ites tremendously enjoyed 14 year Revie very successful era.
26 Mar 2025 05:42:23
Well that’s fine if you do but there’s no denying it has had consequences for the future of our club from the expectations of the fans to the weight of the shirt for the players.
26 Mar 2025 06:24:25
I’m sure from that era totally loved it Baz, but in a way OP is right.
It’s become a Boulder of expectation on the back of everyone at the club, and everything that the club does. Even the development and semi success under George Graham, then O’Leary didn’t lift it. In the same way, the hoodoo wasn’t broken by Sgt Wilko and his heroes who became champions. It’s still a rod for the back of the club for some reason, and needs to be removed, or no one will ever be happy with future achievements.
26 Mar 2025 07:11:55
We did Baz, but the dissapointments and injustices that the Club and us fans had to suffer during those years were hard pills to swallow.
26 Mar 2025 11:12:44
I agree LUFCfeath with your obvious injustices
and OP and Bright have a smidgeon of a point. A smidgeon I say.
BUT there is no wayyy any sane Leeds fab / Revieite is wishing away that golden 14 year era.
Revie completely transformed the club spectacularly and without him Leeds imo would have been a West Brom or Stoke type club for next 65 years 1960 to 2025 ie little to no success at all in our history.
26 Mar 2025 11:34:39
Indeed Baz, I absolutely would not, and do not wish it away, only the burden it creates for whatever reason.
26 Mar 2025 13:40:46
LEEDSY for me, not so much legacy, history, but represents more self inflicted errors, failures which in the main, could have and should have been prevented, and predominantly, it’s us little old supporters who are impacted the most.
Too young, just! For the Revie era, hence my idol being Sgt Wilko as represented in my name and avatar.
Leedsy things like;…
Rubbish communication between club and supporters
JKA
GFH
Bielsa team missing out on promotion
Farkes team missing out on promotion
USA based led decisions leading to poor player and manager recruitment
Failing to recruit in known areas of weakness year after year.
Fully appreciate that it means different things for different people.

Yes, pre Revie Leeds were throughout their history a plodder of a Club who won nothing, and were in danger of dropping into Division 3 before Revie arrived. An example of my thoughts were winning the FA Cup on the Saturday, then the awful feeling after the defeat at Wolves on the Monday which cost us the double. To have to play a match of that magnitude two days after the Cup Final was a decision by the Football League which never happened to any other Club. In those days the FA Cup Final was traditionally the last day of the season, but not for Leeds.

100% LUFCfeath.
