From Wednesday LUFC ?? have 10 league fixtures to play in just 38 days. That's a tough schedule. Hoping Farkey will utilize and rotate his squad which means seeing more of G, Crew and MJ.
25 Nov 2024 16:00:49
Agreed George
The good news is aside from in form very free scoring Boro its a reasonably favourable set of fixtures.
25 Nov 2024 16:25:34
Baz The top 7 is pretty much set for the season but there'll be some rearranging for sure. Boro are a massive threat with their goal scoring.
I'd like to see Mes dropped for Darlow for at least one game. By all accounts, Darlow has been improving.
From what I've been seeing, Firpo will come back in for Byram (who hasn't done much wrong) .
Midfield needs a reshuffle imo. Want to see G or Crew come in alongside Ao. Drop Baracus for Roth whom I believe can transition relatively quickly to a 10 from his natural 8.
DJ and Willy on wings. Rami waiting, will build up his minutes from bench.
Drop Piroe for Solomon who's my preferred no.9. Solomon seems to know where the goal is, more composed.
Rami, MJ, Piroe and Baracus from the bench frightening depth at this level. Situation improves again once Amps returns. All imo.

Some good suggestions there Georgey .
25 Nov 2024 19:43:22
I’m hoping we don’t see Crew until last 6 games which hopefully would mean that promotion is locked up.
25 Nov 2024 21:19:59
Agree with Solomon as 9 Georgie. A good shout.
26 Nov 2024 06:26:32
Solomon is a winger, he might do an attacking midfield position but he’s no number 9.
I still think Piroe is the best we’ve got and has scored the most goals for us.
Is he good enough for the Premiership is another discussion.
26 Nov 2024 07:05:49
OP You could be right but also wrong. Both his goals were scored in central positions and were no control, no getting the ball out of his feet, first time strikes on the run. Hallmarks of a striker or perhaps in his case a false 9. What we've been crying out for.
26 Nov 2024 14:06:38
Anyone who has played football of an average or above level can score those, the same as some seasoned pros still miss them. They are not the hallmarks of a striker for the modern game. So very much more to it than that. Let’s utilise Manor where all experienced coaches have used him, and he prefers to play eh? . Experienced CBS would destroy him in the 9 role.
26 Nov 2024 17:17:21
And sorry, but having tap ins and the “false 9” role as justifications are entirely contradictory, and expose a serious lack of understanding or knowledge. A False 9 is the very last thing we need right now; if anything, we require the polar opposite!
26 Nov 2024 17:20:20
Do you mean in the same manner as your yet to be fulfilled assertion that Davis at Ipswich would be "rinsed" week in, week out in the EPL?
Yet, Ipswich aren't in the relegation zone and aren't even conceding 2 goals per game.
Imo Manor looks quite adept in front of goal, more so than on the wing.
26 Nov 2024 19:08:28
Indeed Georgey. Brighteth spouted a load of nonsense re Leif Davis. completely got it wrong.
26 Nov 2024 20:13:35
Like two old women……. that’s relevant to this discussion, and Leeds this season how exactly? And if that’s your only comeback to being “rinsed” yourselves over nonsense fairytale assertions, then everything is said, that needs to be said.
26 Nov 2024 20:34:40
George, Ipswich are in the relegation zone.
26 Nov 2024 21:11:36
Brock Not for long. ?.
26 Nov 2024 21:16:21
Based on what?
26 Nov 2024 21:30:27
?????????.
26 Nov 2024 21:35:22
Bright Not surprised at all by your unnecessary personal attack but what you wrote is nonsense. Here's why.
LUFC only has 2 CFs. Joseph and Bamford. Neither are in the current starting line up.
Reason for Joseph? Probably to do with his below average conversion rate. His hold up play I like a lot though.
Reason for Bamford? Let's not even go there.
Piroe is not a CF.
Therefore we are in a "makeshift" predicament. We did not buy a CF in the summer (probably due to financial fair play) so we don't actually have one in the starting 11 right now.
Can we buy the appropriate CF quality in January? Doubtful. Difficult window to do business in, clubs don't often sell or loan their better strikers at that time plus I doubt we have the funds.
All of these issues encapsulated by Farke's phrase in preseason "sins of the past".
We are therefore in a "makeshift" predicament in the present, created from the past and for the near future.
I therefore have every right (as other posters have) to wonder whom could play that role from what we have available. My choice hardly controversial in the overall circumstances. He's part of the forward line.
Talking of which, Wilder recently remarked that when facing Leeds whilst we were attacking they had to guard against our "front 6". Therefore, the game has changed somewhat from an old-fashioned battering ram type CF. This is demonstrable from the more frequent deployment of a 4-2-3-1 and related formations across the game. I'd certainly love us to get an excellent CF but the reality is we don't have one and probably won't get one anytime soon hence why we seem to be focusing on the acquisition of a very capable 10 (with the boy from Manchester City linked) .
Accordingly, my Manor suggestion is made with a background of these particular "makeshift" circumstances and therefore probably doesn't require your scathing criticism imo.
26 Nov 2024 21:40:42
Brock Their team, especially Delap whom I rate and their manager. I don't expect them to go down. Have been posting this for awhile.
26 Nov 2024 21:58:38
Very well said Georgey ???.
27 Nov 2024 20:54:12
So George, despite being factually incorrect (Ipswich are in the relegation zone) it doesn’t matter because you don’t think they should be?
Explains a lot of posts.
28 Nov 2024 00:35:15
Brockley You've never made an error. You're perfect.
It explains nothing by the way I can assure you. Take my word for it.
28 Nov 2024 06:58:59
I make errors. When I do I own up to them, I don’t pretend that it’s not an error because I think it shouldn’t be.
I left the school playground a very long time ago, sadly some people seem to have never left.
