Here’s a question,
Are Rothwell and Tanaka turning into a better pairing than Ampadu and Gruev?
Whatever, I’m just so glad that we’ve got such good replacements for our injured duo.
Losing them both for such long terms could have set us back and put a serious dent in our promotion credentials, from last nights performance of Rothwell and Ao you would think not.

Not sure about away when teams should should come at us. Tbh I like all 4 so it’s a good but tough choice. Spose one of each pairing makes sense. You prob see Amps walk back in then 1 from 3.

Whether individually they are better players is always going to be open to debate but as partnerships are concerned I would definitely agree that there's more flow to our overall game with Rothwell and Tanaka in there - and they've only had a couple of games together so can only improve their understanding!
Will be the 'right' sort of selection headache to have when Amps and Gruev are fit again!

Yep in a way ironically DF got lucky with him being unable to play both defensive mfs Gruev and Amps

I have just said similar below op. It was an impressive midfield display.
The only thing is that rothwell has not played regularly for a while so might need resting or pick up injuries.

Drop Amps back to defence and rest Rodon for easy matches, make sure he doesn't get burned out. Likewise with struijk. All great players but we don't want to flog them.

Always felt Joe was a more able footballer than Ilan, it just seemed easier in mid last night, aggressive thinking, made for a more embossing game from us
I feel Gruev needs to be more positive in his play.

Not sure as all four are good, fair play to the recuritment team who seem to be bang on the money when it comes to sigings.

We look better going forward with Rothwell and Ao. A really good performance last night, and, WE SCORED FROM A CORNER!

Roth and Ao are classic 8s. Roth has more 10 capability than Ao and was slightly reminiscent of Gary Mac last night. Playing them results in an elimination of the passive side to side football so easy to defend against. I prefer Ethan as part of the back 4. As for the Gruev, what a bench and rotation option when he returns. The other effect from playing the more dynamic duo is it brings out the best in the other players around them. Bye bye double pivot. Get free agent cover though.

Gruev did a lot more attacking runs last season and I wonder if Amps defensive minded approach restricts Gruev?
Amps on back line and Rothwell and Gruev midfield.
Or Rothwell 10, Gruev Tanaka MF and amps defence.
We have the most versatile team in the league.
