Unsurprisingly a good win yesterday as our play is starting to fall into place.
Amazing how many posters views have changed in a very short space of time!
Farke set up his team to make Coventry look very poor and got some payback from a team that made us look poor last season and stole 4 points from us.
As Dill mentioned it was good to see the right flank being used more often, Cov were run ragged by us. Then when they are completely worn out, the fast break, a pass to Piroe who knocks them in for fun. Purrrrrfect.
I still think that anyone who is misguided into thinking this is a poor league this season and to win it should be like a walk in the park for us, should think again.
As much as some fans who maybe calling for Farkes head after only five games, this is a marathon of a league with many ups and downs with injuries, suspensions etc to consider as to the fate of any team.
I’ve read a lot of compliments for the players yesterday for how we dismantled Coventry but nothing about our coach.! Is it not ironic when someone who is criticized a lot but does well rarely receives compliments, I’ll put Mez in there also.
By the way, this is a dig.

The comments towards the coach have changed because Farke changed. He was animated on the sidelines - a sign last season that meant we won the game, he used subs well and in good time, we played more aggressively, took more shots rather than walk the ball in, spread the play across the field and more.
The fans were singing for maybe the first time this season, the atmosphere was charged and positive.
IF Farke had done his sideways, tippy tappy backwards football, he would be getting the same stick as he usually does.
To pretend that the naysayers were wrong and trying to use it as a 'gotcha' to prove Farke is mint, is pretty daft, considering he did everything we have been asking him to do.
If anything, those critical of Farke were correct; the style of play we saw yesterday IS better than ye olde Farkeball.

Next few games will show how good or bad the coach is i'm still not convinced one good win against a poor side doesn't mean a lot, remember the dross we watched against west brom and burnley.

Farke must read this forum as he did what a fair few of us have been asking for ? joking aside, he deserves credit for yesterday. There seemed to be clear changes in approach and execution yesterday and they paid dividends. Was great to see. Coach and players deserve their flowers. As MoT said, still doesn't negate the fair criticisms prior to that, but they are now being addressed, which is very good to see. And I assume we will all be happy if they continue throughout the season.

Exactly Dill the coach was so wrong until he read the posts on this Leeds forum.
That just about sums it up for me thank you very much.
Enjoy your Sunday and bring on Norwich.

Was clearly a joke mate, I even said so ?.

Dill . OP doesn't get jokes.

I know it was a joke Dill and not having a go at you per se but the last two weeks we’ve gone through the wheels coming off to sack Farke and it’s hard reading when it consumes most threads. Not saying that that negative mantra is going to stop because we’ve won two games on the bounce, but the righteous, hypocritical crap that we have to read sometimes between winning and losing just makes my blood boil. I just want to give those certain posters a little taste of their own medicine, because someone should.
Alls fair in love and war in my book.

The fact of the matter is.
We should have won our first five games.
Does anybody think any one of our first five opponents are better than us?
No. They are not. So we wasted a rubbish load of points. I’m not expecting to win every game. Just the ones we should. So.
If we don’t win the ones I think we should then I will moan and say the manager part time coach ain’t good enough. Lose to title contenders away if need be. But not drop points v relegation fodder.
And don’t say we don’t know who they are.

OP The chief point is this. At home, at this level, no need for double pivot. In so doing, we're actually assisting the opposition. At home, at this level, playing a DM (say Gruev whom I like a lot) and a classic 8 (Ao or Roth) will have teams scampering around for a grip they just won't find. Ao (very good player) plays intelligent progressive passes breaking lines. Then when those lines are broken we have too much firepower at this level. Matter of time until we score 5 or 6 at home. So please at home, don't play double pivot. In so doing, you only help the opponent. We're not facing EPL teams (yet) . Away from home, by all means deploy.

Very much agree, George.
30 Sep 2024 10:43:18
It’s funny how certain people ACTUALLY believe they know more than the manager!
I can see where OP is coming from to be fair.
And if every team beat who they should beat what would be the point of even playing? The final table would be known beforehand!
How all of a sudden were Farkes use of subs any different to previous weeks because it all same ole to me?
One last point. This whole double pivot bollox. Now Amps is injured George really rates Gruev and would like AO beside him as he’s way more progressive ?
Personally I find it hard to judge a player on a handful of minutes here n there but everyone has Tanaka down has the new Gary McAllister! And funnily enough it was Gruev who played the more advanced of the two on Saturday.
Let the manager manage. A new signing shouldn’t always walk straight in to the team, let him earn it first.

Cork I rated the Bulgarian (Gruev ?) long before Amps got injured.
"Let the manager manage"?
Let the posters post.
30 Sep 2024 13:44:58
Cork "It's funny how certain people actually think they know more than the manager! " Is this is what you convey to punters just before they place bets or do you maintain silence?
30 Sep 2024 14:27:58
I don’t take bets off punters George, never have.
Seem to recall you longing for Rothwell to start and now it’s AO. Whose place can you remind me did you want taken? I’m guessing it must have been Ampadu seeing you are Gruevs no1 fan?
30 Sep 2024 15:35:47
Cork Wrong again. I've noticed this regular invention on your part. Ao ahead of Roth always has been in my book. I knew of Ao quality before his arrival and posted this at the time. Roth can come on as sub, solid player. As for Gruev, he's not just a DM but has a raking pass in him and not such a bad shot. Marcelo would coach him even better.
Thought you worked for a turf accountant?

Skirting the question as usual giw?
30 Sep 2024 23:57:28
I'd prefer Amps alongside Rodon. Struick best LCB in the league. No room for everyone so maybe rotate Joe ordinarily. Amps passing from the back defeats a press and can find target man with relative ease. Hard to provide clear answer to that query Corky. All I can tell you is I fancy Amps as a CD more than a DM.
