Not sure why there is such a level of shock at posters making strong comments around yesterday’s performance.
For the people who say first and foremost or the only thing that matters is the win, enjoy your weekend…. brilliant great.
But please don’t deride posts from people that made that substantial journey at significant cost of they’re right to say…. for them what they invested, it wasn’t great.
If a win is the only thing then great, but if you’re one of those people who want to see exciting attacking football, yesterday was certainly not it.
I watched the whole game, well I say I watched the whole game however, for the first time in three years or more I was switching between the cricket and the golf rather than watch us play in that way.
Brilliant effort by the likes of Firpo and amazing finishing for both goals but had Colwil not skied his shot when completely free on the edge of the box when it was only 0-1……well.
We look like a team completely devoid of confidence and ideas. Managed by a coach (possibly unfairly) who is under significant pressure to get a result…. nothing else so fair play to him, mission accomplished.
But today, I’m still genuinely glad we won but I’m not proud or excited by what I personally watched yesterday, and as for poor MJ…
What chance does the lad have? He makes so many runs in behind but the ball never comes in, I counted seven times when we were attacking we had three vs seven and they only had 10 men on the pitch.
Our magnificent away supporters let Farke and the team know numerous times what they thought of the lack of intent, and Gruev apologising and saying calm down after our second goal was not a great look.
MOT but please make this a turning point in our performances from now on.

Good post Class
Class I have a question for you
do you think ( some ) posters keep quiet on you posts rather than openly disagree with you?
Very few if any on here ever challenge your points of view.
22 Sep 2024 14:49:52
Excellent ? post Class. It brightened the weekend.
22 Sep 2024 15:31:41
Not sure really Baz, Berm challenges me pretty strongly at times but I support his movies so it’s mostly fair. ?
In all seriousness challenging opinions and views is what makes a thriving banter site, I’ve confirmed I’m the worst for predictions on the site so there’s plenty to challenge.
I suppose I always try and debate the opinion, the view but never criticise the person just, because they may disagree with my own view.
Like Hess, he made that trek to Cardiff, paid his money and had every right to say he found it less than amazing overall, but rather than asking him why exactly some people respond he should be happy and how 3 points is the only thing, that’s based on the person responding view not on what Hess highlighted.
I think I probably agree with Brighty and Opti nearly everytime but on this point I don’t, I thought for a lot of that game we were not certain to win, but it’s fine to differ.
But hey anyone is welcome to challenge my views knock yourselves out. It’s just a viewpoint after all, never personal.
22 Sep 2024 16:06:46
Interesting reply Class. Thanks.
Are Berma's Guy Ritchieesque movies any good Class?
22 Sep 2024 16:37:20
He’s not bad ya know, mind you we was already dead long before he had worked it out, but they’re an entertaining watch all the same ?.
22 Sep 2024 16:43:10
Cheers class
To be fair I often agree with you but sometimes do disagree however I do it with respect as I think you come across as a good bloke, passionate about leeds and have a great knowledge of football
Baz you won’t like my films mate. See while I have won countless awards and had so many great reviews comparing me to guy Ritchie, Martin scorescs and tarentino
My films are made on for between 40k to 280k where as snatch was made for 10 million 20 years ago
So although I’m clearly immensely talented and respected by critics to the uneducated eye comparing me to Ritchie is like comparing farke to Belisa. One had the money the other didn’t.
22 Sep 2024 16:55:52
Most folks accept Classes posts because he is expressing his opinion as exactly that, opinion. He also is consistent in what he says, polite and level headed. He doesn't spend 90% of his post deciding other posters and their opinions. He isn't provocative and doesn't set out to wind up for the sake of it.
and there is a pleasing absence of emoji.
22 Sep 2024 16:59:23
Very fair perspectives Class, and I also tend to reply to yours and anyone’s posts that spike a response. That said, and taking into account Baz’s observations, I’m going to ignore the specifics, and not respond any further than this, so that Baz can feel his much needed warm fuzzy feelings of being partly right!
22 Sep 2024 17:10:22
Berma, au contraire
remember Corks post last season on fave musicians, films and directors
We have same tastes in music and film
We both love the Greatest Showman Ever Mr Freddie Mercury
And thd Greatest Diretor Ever Mr Quentij Tarantino
. so if you have even 1% of Tarantino talent . kudos.
22 Sep 2024 17:51:37
Dont often agree with you Ani . but me being always fair I do fully agree with your portrayal of Class .
22 Sep 2024 18:34:30
If you read the reviews for my work it is arguable that I have as much talent as Ritchie, tranentio and scoreesse. I have been compared to them and Pinter many many times. I just don’t have there money so my films can’t really be compared.
Bit like farke and bubs
Or Wilde, the Ipswich bloke, franke who I adore and pep. Pep not as good as the others as he has the money so the job is easy
Making a film for 10 million twenty years ago can’t be compared to making a film last year for 280k so to be compared to them is a huge compliment
Farke getting us in playoffs or when warnock kept us up far better than besila getting us promoted or not th in prem in my opinion due to money and circumstances.
22 Sep 2024 19:13:59
Very fair post, Class. As always. Can't argue with any of that.
22 Sep 2024 19:27:21
Bermo's talent only second to his modesty ?
His films definitely worth a watch if you like British gangster films.
And if you watch Gangster's Kiss you will see a very handsome Yorkshire chap in certain scenes. As well as DJ I'm in it somewhere as well.
22 Sep 2024 19:29:30
Berma . as it happens I have been reading the reviews of your latest film.
Hmmm Ill leave it at that . ?.
22 Sep 2024 21:06:33
Baz if you’ve read all the reviews from bermondsey tales you will see why I’m tipped to be in the mix for a bafta
My point is this. Frake is better than bubs.
22 Sep 2024 21:07:35
Odds on you making the tea in your scene Alfie lad.
22 Sep 2024 21:42:35
Martin Scorcese ???
I’m actually not too sure is Berm taking the Michael?
Watched A Gangsters Kiss and I’m still laughing!
What happened to John Hannah’s career?
All seriousness though very light hearted stuff.
22 Sep 2024 21:53:34
I have read some of the reviews.
I am not a fan of The Guardian . and you might not be either with their beastly 2 out of 5 critic rating.
22 Sep 2024 21:56:09
. also reviews in Rottentomatoes. com.2 or 3 good reviews. although noticeably all with the surname Head ?.
22 Sep 2024 21:57:28
. Bafta tipped Berma? . any link please on that ?.
22 Sep 2024 23:31:16
No links then Berma . thought so ?.
23 Sep 2024 08:44:51
Baz you’ve once again derailed a thread started with a well written post into a Baz conspiracy theory that “people who have similar opinions don’t get the same style of response as when I post them” (read your posts and then other peoples and you’ll see why) followed by an attack on Bermo’s career (and seemingly making your mind up without actually being willing to do any research or fact checking (ie watch any of his films) - sound familiar? )
I’ve long wondered what you do (or did) for a living that makes you so well positioned to tell everybody (various board directors, club scouts, DoFs, medical teams, managers, players, investors, film directors, every poster on the board etc) that they don’t know what they’re doing and you know better? I’d love to see what your reaction would be if somebody criticised your work in the same way you seem to think is fine.
23 Sep 2024 10:01:48
Baz you and George have dished out a more than a fair amount of impolite opinions to other poster’s opinions, especially you, I suggest if you feel the response to you is unfair, then don’t dish it out in bucket loads.
If it’s called Banter then your version of it is a bit disrespectful at times. Nobody is right or wrong on this forum and Class is our model poster for purveying his opinions, take a leaf out of his book.
23 Sep 2024 10:43:25
Brockers film critic reviews give one insight into its worth investing 3 hours of one's life watching a certain movie
I would much rather rewatch the truly great scriptwriter and director in Tarantino and his films rather than the self proclaimed Tarantino Scorcese Berma and his films.
23 Sep 2024 10:46:21
OP you've said many a time you lurve to focus on my posts
I am not complaining though, bring it on fella ?.
23 Sep 2024 10:47:54
I’m on the long list baz but for the record don't think I’ll win.
Guardian do hate me but then they are going to I write working class stuff
Cork I didn’t direct a gangsters kiss. In my opinion that’s my worst film by a long way
I directed bermondsey tales fall of the Roman Empire.
Reviews on IMDb here. The film was compared to snatch, lockstock, the Krays, goodfellas and godfather part two by critics. I was compared to Ritchie, Scorsese and tarebtino many times by the professional critics. Again context my film cost 280k in 2024 they made films for multi millions 30 years ago
23 Sep 2024 10:59:06
Thanks Brockley and op
I have tried to respond but the Ed’s won’t let me post a link but please all feel free to Google bermondsey tales fall of the Roman Empire on IMDb
It was the film I directed (I didn’t direct a gangsters kiss which I think is my worst film bu a mile)
On IMDb you will see every professional review likening the film to snatch meets goodfellas and the krays meets godfather part two, the best film in its genre for two decades. All professional critics words not mine
Many professional critics have likened me to guy Ritchie, tarebtino and scoressose again there words not mine
If anyone cares to read it’s all there on IMDb. Baz take five minutes rather than slagging me off?
{Ed001's Note - it gets caught up by the spam filter Berm, Ed33 should find it eventually. Apologies mate.}
23 Sep 2024 11:31:06
Berma
I idolise Tarantino he is a frigging genius. so do forgive one
BUT NO ONE is like him. great like him. No one even remotely close imo
I do wish you great success though .
23 Sep 2024 12:18:11
Baz, you’ve outdone yourself, taking needless swipes at a guys career. Just because what he does falls into the public domain, doesn’t give you the right to take a swipe at his work on a feckin footie forum!
Perhaps as Brockley suggests, you could enlighten us as to your career, your profession, and how successful you have been to be in a position to judge others in such a way? Then perhaps we will all be big enough to say “you know what, I ain’t perfect, so who am I to judge on something I know nowt about”. Something you clearly lack the ability to do.
23 Sep 2024 12:55:04
I’ll give Bermondsey Tales a watch Bermo. I do love proper London gangster movies.
{Ed007's Note - I'll check it out too Bermo ??
23 Sep 2024 14:43:23
Berm Please may I enquire have you ever met Guy Ritchie?
23 Sep 2024 14:51:09
Cheers thank ms Ed and completely understand
Thanks also cork and Celtic
Baz if you read the many reviews you will see I’m not self proclaimed Tarantino others, many others have said it about me same with Ritchie and Scorsese. Unlike you I don’t blow my own trumpet but I do enjoy the praise from my work which I am very proud of.
23 Sep 2024 16:19:10
George yes but briefly however I have worked with seven of the cast of lock stock and snatch four of whom are close mates of mine.
