Interesting yet rather predictable meltdowns from the usual suspects after yesterday.
We are 4 points off top after 5 games - hardly the end of the world
we have had a load of new players who haven't had any time to integrate yet (think there were only 8 players left who weren't on international duty- hardly the end of the world
we dominated and would have won had we taken the chances we created and got a stone wall penalty- hardly the end of the world
just calm down a bit and give it time eh?

Spot on Alf. Stay calm while those around have pointless meltdowns, and turn into frantic panic monkeys. It’s a competitive league, and anyone can beat anyone, on any given day. And they will. It’s not even as tho we have started the season with a settled side from the end of the last season. Defence is new. Midfield is New. Striker is effectively new. Subs are mostly new. I just don’t get the flapping so soon.

Sorry 5 PTS off top.

The issue for me is the same problems arriving from Farke's in-game management. If we go behind he's seemingly incapable of making a positive impact with his decisions. It's worrisome as this isn't singular game issue, it's a trend that has continued from last season.

Thank the lord Alf, completely agree.
15 Sep 2024 21:29:01
Well said alf
Dill your post is illogical as Belisa did the same thing jut worse
What was the record under Belisa we didn’t win a single game when we went behind first for 100 games or something like that?
Match day management no one was worse than bubs and he had a far better hand thank farke
Let’s back the manager.

Didn’t hear anyone complain when we went on that winning streak for about 12 games from the beginning of January last season, breaking a club record at the same time and clawing back a 17 point lead held by Leicester and us going top all be it briefly. Hardly the signs of a coach who is making the same errors all the time!
That period has been conveniently forgotten and replaced with nothing but negative rhetoric towards Farke.

I recall in his very first interview that Mr Marathe stated
that if players, managers, coaches etc were NOT doing their jobs effectively . he ( and the SF49ers) would find others who would.
Mr Marathe and Co have reputation in US of being ruthlessly ambitious.

100 % Spot on Dill.

Err Berma re your post above
so I had a perusal of results under Bielsa
Gone through 1st season under Bielsa
There were THIRTEEN matches where Leeds conceded first goal and then came back to draw or win.
Of course you remember Lèeds United super comeback from 2 nil down to beat your Millwall 3 2 .
Also the exact same Villa 2 vs Lèeds 3 .
and 4 other wins
and 7 draws
So Bielsa in game management that season attained TWENTY FIVE POINTS from losing positions.
Good game management.

OP . yes the winning streak in 2024 laudable to a degree BUT
Bottom line Farke still did NOT get Leeds promoted
This season as such is an absolute MUST get promoted season. Farke is likely out very soon unless a run of wins ensue in next matches.
16 Sep 2024 06:33:04
I'll ignore that Bermo because it's quite clearly wrong.
OP, not sure why we would be complaining when we are winning games. When we start losing then it's crucial to look at the contributing factors to those losses. Of course the initial issues were we didn't convert our chances in the first half. Once the second half begins we need the manager to manage the game effectively to try make a positive impact. He didn't do that and hasn't done that in most games we've gone behind in. It's an issue that needs addressing. Chances will come and go. We'll score a few, we'll miss a few. The one remaining factor will always be how the manager can can a game for the better through their in-game management. Ultimately Farke lacks this quality. We saw it last season, we are seeing it again this season.
Objectively, that is an issue. It's not negative to raise legitimate concerns over something which there is documented, tangible proof of.
Of course, if those two shots go in then we aren't having this conversation, but they didn't and then Farke sucked the momentum out of the game with his ponderous substitutions. If the sun's thing was a one off issue, again, wouldn't be having this convo. But it's not is it. It's multiple times spread over the past 12 months.
I have an issue with that, even if others don't.
16 Sep 2024 06:56:46
Will also add, Bermo. Farke did have last season and has got this season, a better squad than Bielsa ever had.
16 Sep 2024 09:43:40
100% spot on Dill
Farke had a far better squad than Bielsa ever had .
16 Sep 2024 12:12:50
Better squad, yes, better team I would debate.
16 Sep 2024 14:18:41
Better team too.
16 Sep 2024 17:18:55
Hmmm. All of those clamouring at the time for Bielsa’s head were heavily critical of his “in game management”. No plan B was the shout. Backtracking now to say his “in game management” was just fine. Face palms a gogo….

Dill, I understand concerns about what appears to be reoccurring errors from Farke, like his use of substitutions and his tactical responses to teams that deploy a low block. The pressure is on Farke as it would be for any manager at Leeds United due to the very high expectations. But Farke for me answered any doubts I had about him last season, although he missed promotion by a whisker, he still achieved getting 90 points and in any given season that will nearly every time guarantee you promotion.
So putting aside any faults he may or may not have, and what manager doesn’t? he can still achieve the objective of amassing the required points tally that would secure promotion.
Despite what Baz and maybe a few others think, the Championship is an extremely competitive league in any given season and even if the quality may not be there, the determination by teams to win at any cost is always there.
Any team that wins promotion from the Championship really do merit it in my opinion, apart from Leicester who cheated to achieve it. !

So Farke’s starting 11, that you pick to pieces frequently, with large holes in it that you zoom in on incessantly, is better in your opinion, than Marcelo’s?
