So Angus is trying to explain why we could not secure another Pablo. We know about Gustavo or even Emi but I always wonder that over the whole of Europe (maybe even the World) there must be at least one No10 worth taking a punt on. What say you Dilli?

AK? He bends the truth more than Uri Gellar bends spoons.
Last season LUFC were evidently after a CAM. and identified and almost signed one in Amari from the European market.
It's a key position that they have again ( unwisely ) failed to secure.
Leeds hierarchy though may yet just about get away with it because the quality of the Champo this season is sooo weak.
There are no quality stand out teams like Leicster, Ipswich and Southampton who were evidently better than Leeds when it counted.

Not that we can afford Leo. We took an awful punt on our favourite and failed.
We were willing to spend what we thought was fair but failed and then didn’t get anybody for any price. Pig pig headed.
Truth is. They are trying to get up on a whisker. And they may well do. As Baz keeps saying. We are blessed with a poorer league.
However. Say we don’t go up. How stupid will and should they look.
2-4 mill more and most posters on here say done deal.

If he said the sky was blue I would go out and check.

The truth is gio was a 35ml signing for the prem he did well as a number 10 but he may not have been bought for that position.
We were looking at 10-15ml replacements. Yes we could have scoured the world for a number 10 but its always a gamble to get a player that would fit. Sometimes a foreign player can take a full season to settle.
We tried for a replacement who would be ready to go in Hamer or buendia. It was not to be.
When we bought aaronson etc Al who were not ready for English football see where it got us!
I for one am pleased with our creative players we recruited this year.
Gnonto or aaronson can play number 10. And I am sure can do a job there to.

Just listened to the Sq Ball podcast and thought Angus came across well honest and sincere.
The whole Archie Gray episode was explained really well and my god Joe Rodon has just become a Leeds legend.
Back in the spring he insisted on being in the photo shoots of the new kit even though he was soon to be heading back to Tottenham. This is a guy who knew where he wanted to play this season no matter what.
And despite offers from EPL teams he signed for our club because he wanted to be here!
This kinda character is rare these days and players with his attitude are exactly what our great club needs.
MOT.

Well effing said Benjamin me ole mate!
13 Sep 2024 21:49:21
I have spoken to aungus a number of times and have a lot of time for the bloke.
Truth is we spent a lot of Money to get promoted and even more to get relegated maybe even record amounts and this is facts registered by companies house so money must be tight ffp is a thing.
Thought both Angus and square ball handled it perfectly.
13 Sep 2024 22:40:33
Never really liked the Square Ball as one particular guy really annoys me. This geezer wasn’t on this podcast and it was so much more entertaining to me.
Hopefully he’s been sacked because the other two lads are excellent n very professional at what they do.

Did we spend a lot Bermo? If so how much mate?
13 Sep 2024 23:28:39
Berma you giving AK the 'Berma thumbs up' is not exactly a glowing endorsement one would in anyway trust imo
LUFCfeath got it 100% spot on above.
13 Sep 2024 23:46:50
Our previous owners did spend a lot of money and not all were on good acquisitions, I think what Kinnear was trying to say was that we were too eager for instant success where we should have been more pragmatic, like the approach of Palace and Brighton after their promotions.
Hopefully those errors have been learnt from and if promoted we can have sustainability in the Premiership, even if it takes a long period .
By the way, anyone having the false impression that this seasons Championship league is a poor one, I advise you to think again!
14 Sep 2024 00:20:38
Bottom line. 4 more would have got Hamer. 4 is nothing in the big picture. He wanted to come. And that would have been an awesome buy. He is in electric form.
14 Sep 2024 08:57:25
Yeah I’m giving Angus the thumbs up personally as for what we spent the money on, we spent it on promotion then spent it on becoming a joke team. To the tune of 450-500 million if you believe the books and what leeds have officially filed to the tax man, hmr c, and the elf/ premier leauge.
Remember we are a company and have to do the same paper work as any other company.

“Some” good posts there. Agree, he came across very well, and I have no reason to doubt what he is saying, nor does anyone unless they subscribe to every conspiracy theory under the sun. He clearly recognises the mistakes of previous regimes, and openly admits it! I also agree with Aus, that we should have pushed a little harder for Hamer, if only to like Wilder in the ribs a tad more! Getting Hamer would’ve been a bonus to that!
