Klich Alioski Summerville n Raphinha. The only successful signings Orta made whilst at ER. '
Loads of duds. Too many to mention.
Rodrigo and possibly Struick two who done reasonably well although Rod cost a fortune.
Can anyone else name a few more but for the life of me I can't?

Ben White loan signing
And err then. that's it.
03 Sep 2024 22:07:23
Oh my god!
Belisa made the first team signings Belisa had the final say in first team signings he said this
I insisted on costa if leeds hadn’t of signed him I’d of left the club
To think the control freak would of not had say on his players is laughable
Truth is Belisa sigings were hit and Miss
Bamford raph Harrison white all hits
Lorrente nekiata kock and most of the others were missed
Orta was tasked of bringing future gems to the club… a job he was hugely successful at
Honestly the blindness of some leeds fans is shocking
Belisa insisted on training pitch size, his coaching staff, squad size, fitness, training even giving training hq beds etc or what ever it was
But he left someone else bring players in… yeah of course…. And what he said about costa and lorrente was all lies… Belisa was known for his lying in interviews…. Oh my god.

Pontus and will be generous with the Ben White loan and give him some props for that.
04 Sep 2024 00:08:37
Rutter, James, and Harrison surely were good signings overall?

Whatever some may say about Marcelo Bielsa, true or false, he still won us promotion after 17 years of abject misery and out of playing the most dire football I can ever remember to watching exciting free flowing attacking entertaining football.
It’s not easy to be a manager of our club and he succeeded where so many failed and entertained us at the same time.
I won’t deny he failed in the Premiership but I’m absolutely certain that Radz and Orta had a hand in that too.
In the end I’m so glad he was with us than never at all.
If you want to spit poison on Bielsa Berm it’s your choice, I for one will not be changing my opinion of the man.
04 Sep 2024 08:03:26
Bielsa lives rent free in your head Bermo :-)
04 Sep 2024 08:19:04
That’s fair enough op and I respect your views
For me a man with a decent team ( which it was under monk) adding bamford then spending 45 million to get promoted deserves no credit.
For me his sheer brilliance as a coach which I have never denied was massively outweighed by his inability to adapt and uselessness as a match day manager
Think what a decent manager could of done given four years and 100s of millions to spend
He will he up there with hockaday for me.

By means of a follow-up, if you consider Orta also brought in,
Lief Davis [who some here revere! ]
Barry Douglas [pivotal to our promotion]
Patrick Bamford [he has been good]
Jack Clarke, back for a season [again many revere here and wanted back]
Rodrigo
Sam Greenwood
Firpo [probably our most consistent player presently]
Aaronson [going to storm it this season]
Tyler Adams; he was good for us for the period he was here]
. a few others, that folks were happy with when they came, [e. g Saiz, Forshaw, Sacko and Costa etc] I think, Orta had a few more hits than folks like to concede.
He also got us Bielsa.
04 Sep 2024 10:23:42
Don't go there Ani ?, the duds list far outweighs the good list
Btw Sacko : woeful
Costa :poor, and that was alluded too by many many Wolves fans at time of sale.
04 Sep 2024 11:52:00
Bielsa. I win.
04 Sep 2024 13:10:36
Chris costa was poor as said but ignored it is well documented that’s Belisa wouldn’t sign a new contract and was going to walk unless we signed costa Belisa insisted we signed him.

Hey Berm up in Leeds shortly could you point me and my mate in the direction of the Hockaday, murals and plaque outside the stadium please?
Just because Bielsa was fastidious and yes, mostly intransigent on how he coaches prepares a football team it’s a huge leap to say he had carte Blanche over the transfers., is this the same for lead actors on your movies or is it the production company sets the budget.
If this was true why did Radz subsequently say in his leaving speech that the board had let Bielsa down after they finished 9th they expected the same results with the same players.
You say Bielsa was off if he didn’t get his way but he never left and was blooding teenagers in the Premier league.
Oh he’s not without fault, he was stubborn he never found an alternative way of defending when teams found us out second season with the press and not surprisingly based on record goals against was dismissed. (I would have kept him personally)
But at no time was there any mention of financial difficulties for the club, and after Bielsa left, Ted Lasso spent plenty on his American pals, so I’m not sure what you think what Bielsa did or didn’t do led to what exactly, financial armageddon?
PSR became such an issue because Radz and co (not Bielsa) effectively paid for their players on the never never hoping they would remain in PL and get top dollar from the 49ers when it came to sale time. Relegation and being kicked off the gravy train is what caused the biggest issue.
Slag Bielsa all you like, we’re all entitled to our opinions but the majority of supporters who still sing his name home and away and a grateful City will always hold Bielsa in the highest regards.

If Bielsa had been prepared to have a larger squad, and kept Bogusz in the squad rather than sending him out on loan, there was certainly a player in there that could have more quickly been taken to the levels at which he is now performing. If Marcelo had played Gelhardt more often, as fans were clamouring for him to do, Joe would have progressed more than he has, likewise Greenwood, whose free kicks we could certainly benefit from now.
And don’t forget that Orta also brought in Mateo Joseph, who deserved more game time last season and could have made the difference to take us to promotion. Gnonto was also an Orta pick, and could have helped stave off relegation if he’d been played earlier - and but for his muppet agent messing with his head could also have made more of a contribution last season. Talking of talented young players, Orta would of course have brought in Haaland when he visited Thorp Arch if he’d been able to convince the lad the Club was ambitious enough - or maybe if Radz and Kinnear had been prepared to offer to at least match the RB Salzburg offer.
If Radz had sold up when he should have done, after first year in Prem, the Club would have been in a better position to bring in players such as Josh Gvardiol who Orta earmarked before they hit the big time, but Radz couldn’t/ wouldn’t finance. Such players would also more like have seen 49ers as being able to take Leeds into European competition, in which they themselves aspired to play, rather than viewing us a tinpot operation under Radz. We’d also have been able to upgrade on the likes of Coops and Ayling when we should have, and Bielsa would have wanted to.
Yes of course, we all recognise that he brought in some players who didn’t perform to the level required, as do most DFs if truth be told, such as Llorente, whose calamities unfortunately distracted and undermined the confidence of players like Koch, whose performances at Frankfurt have shown what he was actually capable of.
