Is it a case of 49ers not wanting to back Farke.
19 Aug 2024 14:26:13
Herr Farke was shrewd in getting a 4 year deal. looks like Farke was the one doing thst deal in his sleep not Marathe
So a sizeable payout if he gets sacked .
As for Marathe still backing him . probably still does. For now.
19 Aug 2024 14:32:48
Kind of ironic that the same owners who say "bad contracts are a thing of the past" give farke a four year contract without a second thought.
19 Aug 2024 14:48:21
I think they have to give Farke a chance. He was and is a bit clueless and prob shoulda coulda got us up last year.
But.
It has been a bit of a rubbish two years with ins and outs. And Farke been brave enough to publicly say he needs 4-5 in.
Back in 49ers court now. They cashed in big time so let’s see how deep their pockets are. The depth of their pockets will also indicate if they want Leeds or just trying to make us look good for the bull on the cheap.
However, if they don’t get the players we need. Think new owners and manager called for. Clean slate and all.
19 Aug 2024 15:29:14
Giving him a chance is fine, letting him overstay his welcome like Marsch may cost us promotion.
19 Aug 2024 16:24:30
When you lose quality players like we have past 2 seasons what on earth do you all expect DANIEL FARKE do I don't think some on here have ever played game the mind boggles.
19 Aug 2024 17:05:30
Agree MoTagain.
19 Aug 2024 18:45:40
They are certainly letting Farke carry a big burden as far as the press is concerned. He’s had to front up for all the crap last summer and this. He needs to be given the chance to bring his own players in. And I can’t believe they would starve him of funds for players in the hope he might walk. That would be to the detriment of the club and the season.
19 Aug 2024 19:08:49
Mally . according to most people. last season DF had a squad as good or better than each and every Champo club
Leeds are in this current predicament mess because DF along with his team/ squad failed twice at getting promotion.
19 Aug 2024 19:17:25
Baz spot on mate! everybody still making excuses for D Farke.
19 Aug 2024 19:23:53
Adjust, Mally. That's what he needs to do if he hasn't got the players. Unfortunately it's not really something on his wheelhouse. Old dog new tricks and all that.
Best we can hope for is we get some creative incomings in the next week to help with Farke's tactical limitations.
19 Aug 2024 19:24:50
Players failed Daniel Farke ie summerville one of them for last 7 games of season he had his head turned for me we've never replaced pabs I know there hard find them players but this group of players are crying out for a thinker in midfield what do you make Todd Cantwell Rangers Daniel Farke old Boy I know but he would do a job me thinks mot.
19 Aug 2024 20:02:15
Indeed Bermuda Hooksie. ridiculous excuses going around re this
Mally. I agree players failed BUT so too very much did DF.
19 Aug 2024 20:06:45
Think Cantwell would be decent for the right price. Farke definitely got the best out of him when he had him.
19 Aug 2024 20:09:05
The blaming of Cry also smacks of Farke's limitations. If one player doesn't play well the team fails ?Doesn't that highlight how much he relied on certain individuals rather than tactical acumen?
19 Aug 2024 20:30:55
I am not sure why a minority of Leeds fans on here are calling for Farke's sacking, as I can't see a better option out there at this time.
I would rather persevere with him and keep as much stability at the club as possible during yet another tumultuous summer.
I have seen the stats that have been written about the run-in from last season and the start of this one.
Am I the only one that thinks those stats can't really be laid at Farke's door?
Bear with me, here's my take.
Prior to the final international break of last season, Leeds were on fire.
During the final break, Finland played Wales in a bid for the European Championships. Finland lost, and Kamara's performances after that didn't reflect those earlier in the season.
Then, later in that same international break, Wales lost out in their EC bid too. Ampadu, James, Rondon and Roberts all had to overcome massive disappointments.
The leadership group of Leeds United needed to pick themselves up.
It is my opinion that the run-in stats reflected the players' disappointments rather than a sudden loss of managerial capability of Farke.
As the start of this season's stats reflect yet another tumultuous summer. My own conciliation is the fact we have managed to free up a huge amount on the wage bill and squad spaces, ready for a younger and more appropriate profile of player
Briefly
Early season form. patchy as we had a very high turnover of players for various reasons.
Mid-season form. as good as anyone in the league.
End of season form. disastrous due to 50% of the 1st XI struggling with losing out on an EC opportunity.
And still, we nearly got promoted!

There are better managers available, mate. Igor Tudor. Better tactically. Better ingame management. Versatile. Doesn't have an overreliance on individuals. Aesthetically pleasing football. Doesn't eat rubbish from the board.
And it's not a sudden loss of DFs capabilites, as he's shown his limitations repeatedly over the past seasons. Certain individuals don't play well and his tactics don't work because the tactics revolve around feeding certain individuals the ball, instead of an overall use of tactical nous. Only being amplified by our creative players leaving. If he can't adjust then he's in trouble, as are we. Surely would also go some way to back-handedly say that Farke's man management needs questioning if he can't motivate and pick the players up over the course of those last 10 games post international break.
19 Aug 2024 21:12:35
BTW, I'm not saying sack him. He needs the window to see what players are brought in. If we bring some in then happy days and hopefully he gets the best out of them without the same issues we had last season. If not he clearly needs to adjust his tactics.
In either of those outcomes, he will have a lot of pressure as he's either getting what he needs so will be expected to perform, or the spotlight will be on his own ability to affect games through his tactics due to having an inferior squad.
Time will tell. And he shouldn't be given too much if we don't perform in either scenario.
19 Aug 2024 21:51:18
Even though Summerville has left the building, there still seems to be an over reliance of attacking down the left side
Dan James is lightning compared to Gnonto ????
Answers on a postcard peeps.
19 Aug 2024 22:26:40
Farke can't be Schroedinger's manager. He either is the reason we did so well last season, or he isn't the reason we did so well.
If he is to be thanked for his winning streak, then he is responsible for the non-winning streak we're on.
If he isn't at fault for the non-winning streak, then what he did to create the winning streak is moot and would have happened regardless of the manager.
I'm not calling for his head, I want to know who IS responsible for the team, the tactics, the refusal to stop playing bad players or those off form. Who is responsible for over reliance on Summerville? Who is responsible for refusing to make substitutions in a timely and strategic fashion.
If it isn't farke, then save the Dosh and buy a scarecrow to stand on the sidelines.
19 Aug 2024 22:34:40
Short answer. Gnonto is a better player.
James really needs to find some form again as he's been off it for a while now. 24 mins he's played well since start of April.
19 Aug 2024 23:06:52
I agree Dill, Gnonto is more technically gifted than Dan James.
But he isn't as quick or direct and therefore he's at risk of getting smothered out of the game like Summerville was.
20 Aug 2024 05:53:58
Gnonto has only really showed us glimpses of how he played that first season he came. He really went at players that year. Direct and incisive. Hope to see that more. Similar to his goal against Pompey. More of that please.
One thing you can pretty much guarantee from DJ is he'll run his knackers off. But seems aimless sometimes and his crossing leaves a lot to be desired when he get the chances. For me, I think he's great being utilised as a sub for the last 30 mins when legs are tired. But that would entail us getting another winger in first and foremost.
Hopefully DJ can find his form again.

Just a quick one to say “Well said Mally”!
And Manston!
