Solid ore season
Really liking the look of Joseph and Rutter.
Little disappointed there was some boos in the crowd for Aaronson and Wober coming on .

Agree3 Disagree0

Arranson and wober will have to go through the same trial by fire that Rutter and Gnonto did.
If they want to play for us, they'll knuckle down and turn up. So far so good.

Gnonto gets ovations and chants from the crowds, when he used to get boo'd.
Rutter has had maybe the greatest turn-around in Leeds history, from looking like a donkey to the most fun player on the pitch.

03 Aug 2024 18:52:21
Not condoning it MW but, we stayed with team as we always do, . yet those fellas felt they were too good to stay with us, even though they were part of problem

So lads venting upon seeing these players since then imo isn't disrespectful, Once line ain't crossed.

03 Aug 2024 19:18:56
I am more than happy I hope he gets more didn’t want to play for us and we don’t want him now get on the bus And sod off.

03 Aug 2024 19:20:24
Chris he thinks it but he not good post mate.

03 Aug 2024 19:23:25
Fans will be fans and it is there right. If you want to play for leeds and wear the badge you have to earn it

I personally think wobber and Anderson will be good for us this season.

03 Aug 2024 19:24:40
MOT again I heard that West Brom today were facing a transfer embargo from being in pns deep doo financially ( parachute payments have ended )

Regrettably Leeds United seem to have quite considerable financial constraints too this season

. so are you REALLY SURE MOTagain you would not have preferred Leeds United to go up last season from a far more healthy financial perspective?

03 Aug 2024 19:45:31
I know what you’re saying Chris but some fans are so fickle. If these two lads start performing well all will be forgotten.

03 Aug 2024 19:52:45
Yes. 100%.
It gives us another year to expand ER to 50k capacity.
We have time to bed in a team to see who is Prem quality.
RB and 49ers can sort the financial mess that rad and co left behind.

And most importantly of all, we get another year of watching Leeds kick the snot out of teams. If we're lucky, we would win 50/ 50 in the prem if we were promoted this season.
In the champo we will win 80/ 20.

Let the fans have another glorious, fun, entertaining and winning season. We deserve it.

But the time we hit the prem next year, we will be comfortably aiming for mid to top-mid of the table, not throwing scarfs in frustration at another loss and relegation battle.

Be an optimist Baz, enjoy the magic that are the Leeds players.

03 Aug 2024 20:17:22
I am trying to be more optimistic MOTagain but the logical realist in me says

1) there are no givens in definitely going up this season

2) therefore going up last season should have been taken with both hands

3) failing again to go up this season would be very problematic.

03 Aug 2024 20:19:23
Totally agree Corky pal, . few goal lime clearances from Wober

Curler free kick from Baracus and their dogs balls again,

Yesterday's news then ?.

03 Aug 2024 20:41:16
The muppets sat behind me cheered both when the subs were announced (pre-match) booed when they came on and with 2 minutes were cheering again…nothing as fickle as a (especially a Leeds) football fan. I was looking forward to them both coming on to see what their attitude was like. Aaronson didn’t get a lot of service, but did do a lot of running into space.

33K there, which is bonkers: essentially a sell out given there were definite areas closed off (no reason? ) . First half very encouraging, especially down the left. Rutter and Joseph took their goals very well. Right side didn’t work that well. I would have preferred Rothwell starting, but in fairness Gruev played really well. Meh second half, really stop start, too many changes disrupted the flow. Valencia were poor in truth; rarely threatened.

If we can stagger past the window with this group intact; we have to be optimistic.

You've said that about Rutter before MoT and it couldn't be further from the truth about Rutter looking like a donkey. He's always been a talented lad. I watched him at Hoffenheim prior to his move and he was great there. For us the kid barely played and when he did he was being brought on in games for participation minutes against teams that were already thumping us. Hardly ideal to play your best footy and even then he showed some glimpses of his unpredictable talents. He should've been given more game time, but the managers were bottle jobs who went with older heads instead of tapping into Rutter's dynamism.

03 Aug 2024 20:50:51
Don't really think there's a legitimate argument to be had about us getting promoted and leaving us in a worse financial position. It's a demonstrable fact that we are worse off financially.

Along with a whole host of other pitfalls we've encountered such as having to sell out better players, as one example.

Promotion would've been better for the club's health. Ludicrous to think otherwise.

Dill, Re: Rutter

The last was dropped in the deep end in the prem, kicked around and had his confidence knocked out of him. His talent was always there but it looked like, at first, that he had lost his magic
A bit of encouragement and what a change it made. I like seeing him beam from ear to ear when the crowd sings his name.

You know more than me about footy, I'll not argue with that. I've got my views and going to the prem this season would be too messy for us. We've got a year long training session to prepare. We will be in a better position to get promoted this season than we were last season.

A promotion could have seen an exodus of a team, leaving us floundering. Sarfampton and Leicester will be in for a rougher time this year than when they were previously in the prem. At least one will come back down or be a bottom table team for a few seasons.

03 Aug 2024 21:33:50
Sorry MOT but I have to agree with Baz on this one.
We totally missed the boat last season especially if this season goes tits up.

03 Aug 2024 21:41:11
Slowly Slowly we will get there let's all just get behind our club that's our part to play mot to all.

03 Aug 2024 22:08:44
Booing them is a no no for me. They are our players so let's give them a chance for redemption.

03 Aug 2024 22:21:58
Very glad you concur Dill, it didn't make any sense to me for anyone to suggest otherwise.

03 Aug 2024 23:12:20
In my opinion, some booed because they felt they had too. I was expecting far worse and in truth it was very half-hearted and lasted less than 5 seconds. Personally I was far more pleased to see large sections of the fans standing and clapping. No matter what people claim, if they were given a chance to not have their salary halved and play at a high (er) level, 99.9% would have taken it.

Anyway, they are back now and will be far better for us with the fans backing them.

They’ll be a few low-life’s booing Ayling in a couple of weeks.

04 Aug 2024 07:38:16
Yh that's more fair mate, just took umbrage at calling him a donkey, haha. Makes me think of players like Jimmy Kebe. Rutter is and always has been class. Just needed regular game time to settle in.
