Morning All,
Just catching up on the news about Summerville. What I read said £25m upfront with additional add-ons.
Obviously in an ideal world we'd like to keep our player of the season, but if he wants to leave, let him go!
As I've said previously, the likes of Summerville and any other play that isn't committed can be replaced. Prior to last season, Summerville was a nobody and people were doubting is ability and attitude. One good season in the Championship doesn't make you a star. So good luck to him when he tries the same thing over and over against experienced premier league defenders.

The Cree sale represents tremendous PSR value for the club - its essentially £25m (£30 - £34m with add-ons of which there are many which relate to games played, performance, UCL qualification, trophies and international appearance. the additional £5m will be a low threshold clause so its essentially a £30m sale unless something tragic happens) of black (positive credit) and I understand it is £25m UP FRONT cash so a huge amount of instant money in this day and age. Plus Cree wanted to go - he and his agents have been pushing hard for a move so the club probably didn't want a situation where he downed tools. There is no sell on clause in the contract so we won't make any more than the add-ons and UCL and trophy clauses are unlikely so realistically its £30m.

Firstly we are debating a 25mil figure that is unconfirmed on a deal that is still not confirmed.
Secondly if that figure is correct but is upfront then that is why cree being sold for that amount. Its money in the bank.
We probably wanted 35-40 but that would be in installments.
So if cree becomes an international down the line and hits his appearances we get a bit more.10mil more would be a good deal 15mil would be nice.
But 25mil in the bank right now maybe is better.

Good post Alf, £30m ish is what I thought he would go for, so not too bad, plus £25m up front is unusual for today’s transfers. Let’s hope it gets a suitable replacement/ upgrade!

I think cree will do OK in the prem. Although we don't know how west ham will play this season. He does need a good lb to draw defences and create space for him.
He is reliant on his right too much and his passing is poor in my opinion.
Very much a player that still needs improvement.

On Summerville, anything above 30 mil is good. Remember Madisson went to spurs for 40 mil and Harvey Barns went to Newcastle for 30-ish. i think they were prem proven although cree done bits in the prem, he wasn't great.
