Does anyone else think the length of the transfer window is wrong?
IMO I think it should until the first game of the particular league you are in, so for us the 10th, we can't buy or loan, and club can from us either. The premium is later, but they can only buy or loan from Europe or other league until their start date. This was all clubs will have stability from the very start, thoughts?

Agree dougie.
Should only be domestically until first round of matches. Whatever league that is. Think the extension beyond that is to cover for early injuries. Not sure.

Firstly apologies for some of misspelled words, it's that predictive text.
What you want is stability and a settled start to the season, and we in the championship have 3 weeks after the start to bite our nails hoping the 2 big guns don't go. If they stay, and we get a CM and possibly cover at left back, I do believe we will go up.

Left back. Cm and a starter for 10 lol. Then we have a good chance of going up.
It’s been an acceptable window so far but we not the finished article by a fair way yet.
We have beaten fairly poor opponents and Valencia are hardly going great guns either.
Championship way tougher than what we faced thus.

Think we are in a decent position for the start. As for LB we have Firpo, Byram and my first choice Wober.

Agree with all of the above guys:)

I think it should coose 24 hours before the first game and that's it. No January window. You have your squad and be done with it.

Just read this regarding Jan window, Ani: (per EPL website)
Why was it introduced?
Windows were introduced as part of a compromise agreement with the European Commission about how the whole transfer system worked and how it could best preserve contractual stability for both the player and the club while allowing movement at prescribed times during the year - the summer and winter transfer windows in effect.
The alternative was to bring football in line with most other industries where contracts were not enforceable or liable for appropriate compensation, i. e. notice periods being served and players moving at will. The football authorities across Europe felt this would fatally undermine the footballing economy and remove the incentive for clubs to invest in developing players.
Seems it was originally geared towards contractual laws.
I can't lie, I like the transfer windows.

Personally I like transfers windows but don’t see point of them and why they exists other than to boost media outlets when footballs off.

I like the windows too, particularly Amsterdam, but on a serious note they should end prior to first day of season.
