So the powers that be have finally "punished" the toffees
They have prevaricated long enough todo it once they have seen that this season they will more than likely be able to make up the deficit - points should have been deducted ages ago
They have waited and waited until bottom 3 or 4 are so weak and given time for toffees to improve that it is an almost meaningless punishment -
They should already be in the Championship.

Spot on!

Heard on Radio they wanted it done last March, why didn't they, Lester surely now have a case?

That's the frustrating part isn't it, hardly a fair punishment when you broke the rules and got 'better players', then get a points deduction which those same 'better players' should be able to overcome.
Still better than nothing I suppose which is what I honestly expected.

When you read the Chairs closing statement definitely encouragement for the clubs impacted by the toffees blatant cheating……can you believe Mosri almost admitted a deliberate breach of the limits as his team “had no midfield”!
The chair of the commission, David Phillips KC, also referenced applications for financial compensation from current Premier League clubs Burnley and Nottingham Forest and last season's relegated sides, Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton.
Phillips said he was "satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for compensation" - but noted the commission holds no "inherent jurisdiction" and it is instead "the role of the Premier League to bring and prosecute complaints".
But then it’s down to the same inept epl “to bring and prosecute complaints”
Oh well, that’s the end of that tickle on the wrist then!

Deduction of league points ought to be accompanied by a heavy fine and a double transfer window embargo effective on January 1st.

The repercussions of this punishment are going to be very interesting, legal action aside. Talk now that Citeh and Chelsea Blue Sox face automatic relegation. Fudges got -10 for one rule break. Citeh are charged with 115! Transfer windows for both could prove very difficult indeed! It could see a Man U and Arsenal resurgence, and opportunity for Tottenham and other clubs to close the gaps, making the PL much more competitive. Makes getting promoted even more essential now.

Bright, city and Chelsea swimming in a different pond. Premier league not going to do much to harm these teams in case they lead a break away to form a new competition with Europes so called elite.
Money talks, but clubs can afford to employ the best legal teams and ultimately the city's and Chelseas of this world likely to only get a big fine. I also believe Everton will get less points deducted on appeal!

Brighty So technically speaking in event that Citeh lose all 115 charges, will they be deducted 1150 points? Even a 50% success on the charges would result in a 575 point deduction. For me, that kind of penalty ought to send you out of the football league or very best into League Two. It would also spark into life an enormous class action law suit. It is for this reason by the end of decade I can see breakaway league forming with Citeh possibly playing their home games in the UAE.
