West Ham literally just signing a striker today. Newcastle still trying to sign one, Chelsea still trying to sign CBs, Man U trying to sign an AM, all going down to the last week, etc, etc. This is how the market is nowadays, it takes time to agree with all parties involved, especially when millions are involved. We are no different than any other club in that regard. Of course would love stuff to be expedited, but it's just not realistic in today's football. If teams above us are still trying for first team players then there's nothing wrong with us recruiting this late in window.

The only thing I'm comparing between us and the teams I mentioned is that they, as we are, are still trying to buy first team players this close to the start of the season. That's it.
You can't seriously think our squad depth isn't better than last season.
Players who were getting first team football last season are now going to be on the bench more this season. That in and of itself demonstrates more depth. c'mon man, be serious will ya. We literally had a bunch of 18 year old most of the season and now we have veteran players with prem experience on the bench. It's pretty clear we have more depth.
Let's see how the first 10 games go and you can throw it in my face about us lacking creative quality then. Right now there's literally a handful of friendlies to base that on. Bare that in mind. We've had a few friendlies and haven't even had our full first team start any of them.

So to reply to the first sentence. Yes. Yes it does. Our first team now has more depth, pushing the old first team players from last season on to the bench. Meaning, we now have more overall depth. Pretty self explanatory given last season's first team players are on the bench and the players from the bench are likely back to the U23s. I shouldn't really have to explain the concept of depth.
And to answer the second sentence. Yes. That is correct. And that is how squad depth works. Unless you are suggesting we get rid of all the players from last season who were in the starting line up that are now on the bench and bring in different players entirely? I don't really understand what you're getting at.
It's pretty clear to 99% of people that if players from last season's starting line up are then on the bench a season later, because the first team made additions that forced that situation that constitutes better squad depth. Please tell me you understand this.

Our quality of depth has gotten better. It's not that hard to grasp.
We now have better quality of depth in the first team (strong caliber players across more positions than last season) .
Meaning former first teamers are now on the bench, all while having better quality than.
The young kids who sat on the bench most of last season.
Meaning overall quality of depth HAS IMPROVED.

. we really need a ( very) good start in these 5 games in August which is why LUFC are certainly not helping themselves in so far at least still not signing match winning goalscoring CFs, CAM for these 5 EPL games .
If Leeds get a bad start especially without hav6ng yet made these crucial further signings the pressure will really crank up on Radz, Orta and JM.

Chris - you keep on saying the quality of our bench hasn’t gone up, and seem to like using Klich as an example of this. Yes, Klich is one of our older squad members, and his powers aren’t what they once were, but he is still picked for the Polish national team, and on balance I trust their manager and coaches to be better judges of quality than you or I.
I would agree that Greenwood has creative ability, and Joffy certainly does - as shown in his assist for Struijk’s equaliser v Brighton last season. Actually Klich is better in a more advanced position in midfield, as he still has technical and creative abilities, though not as much of an engine as he used to. Frustratingly Rodrigo has great technical and creative ability, but just doesn’t engage his brain enough to make the most of them. If Skubala does come in as U21 coach, maybe he’ll be asked to run some futsal sessions with the first team, to work on their speed and clarity of thought to create chances in tight spaces — Rodrigo in particular could probably benefit from that.

Baz - In relation to Sinistera - he missed 23 games in 2019/ 20 due to a knee ligament rupture - which can happen to any player - and in the last 2 seasons has missed a grand total of 7 games - one of which due to CV19. In what way does that make him worthy of the ‘sick note’ label. Sorry if those inconvenient FACTS rob you of your latest excuse to throw shade on Orta.

Clu. heard from several sources that he was out for almost a year and indeeedon transfermarkt it is confirmed 297 days out with with said injury. The time out more significant for me.
He is already out before he has kicked a ball in anger for LUFC.

Yes Baz, I know it was 297 days. The FACT is any player could be ruled out for that long with such an injury. He played 49 games for Feyenoord last season - which doesn’t suggest he’s suffered any long term issues with that injury.
His current issue is with a hamstring, it is not unusual for a player to tweak a hamstring, and he has no previous history of hamstring problems.
