Mights, game management such a crucial factor these days and surely. the algorithms said 5 of our 1st 6 games had good points opportunities,

But here we are now 10 days away from kick off, no striker, no LB transfers, no real change in depth quality, Klich, forshaw, Moreno , etc don't give anything creative, way too much time given to CdK. Time another 9 could have gotten under his belt with new teammates

It's not. a. case. of. being. childish and wanting it all immediately., But being professional about it, surely. indicates a time. frame.

We need a #9 yesterday,

Spot on post Chris.

26 Jul 2022 16:04:11
No real change I depth quality? ? c'mon now you're pulling my pisser with that one. Squad is far deeper than last season.

West Ham literally just signing a striker today. Newcastle still trying to sign one, Chelsea still trying to sign CBs, Man U trying to sign an AM, all going down to the last week, etc, etc. This is how the market is nowadays, it takes time to agree with all parties involved, especially when millions are involved. We are no different than any other club in that regard. Of course would love stuff to be expedited, but it's just not realistic in today's football. If teams above us are still trying for first team players then there's nothing wrong with us recruiting this late in window.

26 Jul 2022 16:23:35
This was our bench against Brentford last game of the 21/ 22 season. If you can't see we've got more squad depth now then god help ya, because I seriously can't.

Roberts
Klaesson
Struijk
Bate
Hjelde
Cresswell
Klich
Shackleton
Gray.

26 Jul 2022 16:57:32
Dill extra players DOES NOT. MEAN EXTRA QUALITY, .

The players that will now be on bench are the players who mostly. played last season

Do I need to remind you how that went again?

We LACK CREATIVE QUALITY,

26 Jul 2022 16:59:23
Might want to word chech your post Dill, your saying BOTH OF US can't see the Depth ???.

26 Jul 2022 17:04:03
Also Dill the clubs you spoke, of are you really implying we are on a parity with them?

We were threadbare last season, those clubs had options barr Geordies who bought options in January, so that's why it doesn't have to be a major transfer window. for. tbose clubs you mentioned.

26 Jul 2022 17:38:10
The only thing I'm comparing between us and the teams I mentioned is that they, as we are, are still trying to buy first team players this close to the start of the season. That's it.

You can't seriously think our squad depth isn't better than last season.

Players who were getting first team football last season are now going to be on the bench more this season. That in and of itself demonstrates more depth. c'mon man, be serious will ya. We literally had a bunch of 18 year old most of the season and now we have veteran players with prem experience on the bench. It's pretty clear we have more depth.

Let's see how the first 10 games go and you can throw it in my face about us lacking creative quality then. Right now there's literally a handful of friendlies to base that on. Bare that in mind. We've had a few friendlies and haven't even had our full first team start any of them.

26 Jul 2022 17:51:44
CC I believe Dilli was referring to his suggestion for divine assistance to come your way and not to the depth of the squad. He was saying that he can't help you. #trueopinion.

26 Jul 2022 17:53:50
Mr S ?? possesses creative quality in George opinion.

26 Jul 2022 18:07:59
Let me try and understand this.

"Dill extra players DOES NOT. MEAN EXTRA QUALITY, .

The players that will now be on bench are the players who mostly. played last season"

So to reply to the first sentence. Yes. Yes it does. Our first team now has more depth, pushing the old first team players from last season on to the bench. Meaning, we now have more overall depth. Pretty self explanatory given last season's first team players are on the bench and the players from the bench are likely back to the U23s. I shouldn't really have to explain the concept of depth.

And to answer the second sentence. Yes. That is correct. And that is how squad depth works. Unless you are suggesting we get rid of all the players from last season who were in the starting line up that are now on the bench and bring in different players entirely? I don't really understand what you're getting at.

It's pretty clear to 99% of people that if players from last season's starting line up are then on the bench a season later, because the first team made additions that forced that situation that constitutes better squad depth. Please tell me you understand this.

26 Jul 2022 18:11:17
And agree George, hoping Greenwood gets a lot more opportunity this season. He can unlock games given the chance.

26 Jul 2022 19:22:06
Let me explain this,

Do not hyperventilate on what you think I am saying!

What I am saying is we had an awful lot of dross last season, this season that dross will be sitting on bench

Now here's where you are missing my point, the 5 subs required for next season, do u really believe Klich, forshaw, etc are going. to improve OUR OVERALL SQUAD QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY? 3times should sink in i reckon

That's my point, not the depth, THE QUALITY OF THE DEPTH .

We had a bench away to Arsenal last Xmas, decimated by injuries and youth to the extreme

It was a bench none the less, now are you saying that bench sufficed that day as it added depth to team?

That's my point, arses on a seat doesn't equate to an improved OVERALL QUALITY

Blanco -dough I hear noise but shall not be gliding around keyboard to engage you .

26 Jul 2022 19:37:47
Also Dill using your logic,

The bookies have Forest a team who have brought in 11 new players so far I think as 2 ND favourites for drop

Now I do not know about your thoughts on bookies but imo they're never too far wrong

A team that won promotion will probably mostly be broke up, now some will stay, so Jew reckon you know better than them to think Forest will be a superior team next season, because the bookies are saying differently

That's my point, QUALITY, does not equate to DEPTH in a team don't get sucked into semantics, I think my point is clear, on the wording.

26 Jul 2022 19:53:08
Our quality of depth has gotten better. It's not that hard to grasp.

We now have better quality of depth in the first team (strong caliber players across more positions than last season) .

Meaning former first teamers are now on the bench, all while having better quality than.

The young kids who sat on the bench most of last season.

Meaning overall quality of depth HAS IMPROVED.

Christ almighty, it shouldn't be this hard to grasp mate, seriously.

26 Jul 2022 19:57:20
Anyway, we're not getting anywhere here. We can agree to disagree ? And apologies if I was rude. Just passionate and opinionated lol.

26 Jul 2022 19:57:34
Also Dill you might want to check team that went out v a urine weak Palace last week

As it stands right now Roca for Forshaw was probably only change that would automatically happen

We were urine against palace, now I don't know if you seen it, but we couldn't create an idea not amind a few goals against a ravaged palace .

That's why I am saying what I am saying

Not just been " negative " for sake it.

26 Jul 2022 21:16:21
I wasnt aware that Sicknote Sinisterra was out for a whole year at Feyenoord . more classic Orta a la sicknotes Senor Firpo and Llorente etc

What odds Sininstera out for 8 weeks or more?

Sorry Dill, Spanish and anyone else who sa far thinks this has been a very good window. it simply hasn't

as things stand tbe first 11 team that plays Wolves in 10 days time will be weaker than our best 11 last season imho

Get a grip chaps

Striker, CAM. abd LB a must asap.

26 Jul 2022 21:41:07
There's a wonderful saying posted in one of the control rooms here at work, thought I'd share it just for fun. All please take is as it's meant, purely as a lighthearted as a bit of fun.

Don't argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you to death with their experience.

26 Jul 2022 21:45:43
Baz, we stand here again ???

I was initially infused with joy but also having done my research on Sinni I also found that 1 out on top of Diego Anderton + Bambi firpo

I hope Bren will win me over as what I have seen pre season I am totally on fence

I know this will get us lashed out of it, but it's where we normally find each other pal ???

Here's hoping we paste wolves and get about 12/ 13 points out of 1st 6 games.

26 Jul 2022 22:13:07
?? ???.

26 Jul 2022 22:14:26
Also, why does religion have to get dragged into the discussion?

26 Jul 2022 22:35:57
I know a similar one Canada. Never wrestle with a pig, the pig will love it and you just end up covered in sh1t.

26 Jul 2022 23:04:14
Yess Chris pal we stand here again; we both pretty much got last season spot on

I am becoming increasingly concerned for this season as well .

. we really need a ( very) good start in these 5 games in August which is why LUFC are certainly not helping themselves in so far at least still not signing match winning goalscoring CFs, CAM for these 5 EPL games .

If Leeds get a bad start especially without hav6ng yet made these crucial further signings the pressure will really crank up on Radz, Orta and JM.

27 Jul 2022 00:15:35
Nope, you didn't get last year spot on, you GUARANTEED we would get relegated!

27 Jul 2022 01:36:31
Canada lol hence the words ' pretty much 'sunshine

Leeds though were in my predicted R battle for much of season at end of summer window 2021

I predicted Burnley would catch Leeds and they very nearly did

But thankfully the Saudi barcodes surprisingly didn't bring their beach towels last game of season against Burnley to give Leeds a last day lifeline from the abyss

Glad I wasnt 100% correct on that

Cheers Sir Nostra Baz.

27 Jul 2022 06:35:15
Im going to dial it back a bit until we've actually played some league games, haha.

We aren't going to know Jack sh! t until the competitive games are underway and we have a nice run of games with our new players.

27 Jul 2022 09:19:41
Chris - you keep on saying the quality of our bench hasn’t gone up, and seem to like using Klich as an example of this. Yes, Klich is one of our older squad members, and his powers aren’t what they once were, but he is still picked for the Polish national team, and on balance I trust their manager and coaches to be better judges of quality than you or I.

I would agree that Greenwood has creative ability, and Joffy certainly does - as shown in his assist for Struijk’s equaliser v Brighton last season. Actually Klich is better in a more advanced position in midfield, as he still has technical and creative abilities, though not as much of an engine as he used to. Frustratingly Rodrigo has great technical and creative ability, but just doesn’t engage his brain enough to make the most of them. If Skubala does come in as U21 coach, maybe he’ll be asked to run some futsal sessions with the first team, to work on their speed and clarity of thought to create chances in tight spaces — Rodrigo in particular could probably benefit from that.

27 Jul 2022 09:34:11
Baz - In relation to Sinistera - he missed 23 games in 2019/ 20 due to a knee ligament rupture - which can happen to any player - and in the last 2 seasons has missed a grand total of 7 games - one of which due to CV19. In what way does that make him worthy of the ‘sick note’ label. Sorry if those inconvenient FACTS rob you of your latest excuse to throw shade on Orta.

27 Jul 2022 10:39:29
Clu. heard from several sources that he was out for almost a year and indeeedon transfermarkt it is confirmed 297 days out with with said injury. The time out more significant for me.

He is already out before he has kicked a ball in anger for LUFC.

These are FACTS

Cheers.

27 Jul 2022 11:46:28
Yes Baz, I know it was 297 days. The FACT is any player could be ruled out for that long with such an injury. He played 49 games for Feyenoord last season - which doesn’t suggest he’s suffered any long term issues with that injury.

His current issue is with a hamstring, it is not unusual for a player to tweak a hamstring, and he has no previous history of hamstring problems.

27 Jul 2022 12:28:31
Well for Leeds United sake I sincerely hope he remains injury free from now on.
