Like i said before I'm very hopeful with all the new players . but I'm more than sure that the first manager to be gone is JM, give his last post match interview, I just don't see any improvement over last year . I really hope that the management group prove me wrong, but just don't see how we get to 40 points . PROVE ME WRONG and as always since 1970, as a wee Belfast lad watching the best team in the world .

Well that’s a positive outlook.
The way I see it without Marsch we’d be in the Championship right now and that’s from a diehard Bielsa fan.
You’re not giving him much chance to prove himself are you, he took over a team towards the end of a disastrous season that was decimated through injuries and moral. Now he has half a team of new players to bed in, in a very short time.
We didn’t actually get pummeled by Villa or Palace in those pre season non friendliest did we?
I also believe there will be a new CF coming to Elland rd before the end of this summer transfer window.
So I don’t get why JM is the favorite to be sacked in the Prem, maybe it’s because he’s a yank?! Or because his sense clothing is crap?
From a footballing perspective I don’t know what he’s done wrong yet in his short time at the club.
It’s not going to be an easy season for us but I fully expect Marsch to keep us comfortably above the relegation zone this season and for now that’s good enough for me.

Great post optimistical! I’m with you. I honestly think we will be closer to mid table than relegation! It was a massive challenge following Bielsa, massive challenge te dealing with missing players, massive challenge seeing KP and Raphina go, but we’ve responded. Greenwood and Geldhart have had much more involvement and development . Both capable of scoring and creating goals. Watch the pass through from Greenwood to Joffy in the last game and his attempted chip! The dangerous Dane is going to be a star and We’ve got so many more midfield options of quality. The additional CF might determine how good we are this year and that’s why we are trying to get it right!

I think we’re in a good position, better than last year and can’t wait to get going!

I agree with OP, Marsch was given a really hard task which he accomplished.

However as I have said now numerous times, our coming season is very much going to hinge on the quality of #9 we bring in .

It's crucial that we get the best we can get to convert the chances .

We really need to hit ground running from off this season.

A poor start and heads will dip, all the negative doubts get a lot bigger .

C, Mon Jesse lad, I am rooting for ya lad, ?.

Think if we bring in two of the quality being mentioned Noa Lang and CDK with the ability to fill any gaps in January window we should have enough to be mid table . Think top half is best we could wish for and about 12th is where I would be happy for now.

I think this new team would beat last season's team, with or without Kalvin and Raph.

I can't understand the pessimism towards JM. Who was everyone expecting as the new manager? Who would have come to a team on the brink of relegation. The only manager who I would take today ahead of JM who is potentially available is Pochettino; who else is there, that isn't an also ran on the EPL merry go round who despite all their experience spend the careers fighting relegation. At least JM has won things albeit in lesser leagues.

We should get behind him and the boys; we know the season is going to be rocky with plenty of ups and downs, but I say again, we will go into 80% of the games with real hope of getting something from them, we certainly couldn't say that last year.

Well said all of the positive ones! Far too soon for doom and gloom talk! Window not even closed yet!

25 Jul 2022 13:16:33
Ani4nu approx how many goals do you think Leeds will score this season and who is scoring them?

JM has a near impossible task without more goalscorers in his team and must keep JH having lost Raph and his goals.

Baz, we won’t sell Harrison. We’ve lost 11 goals from Raphina and 1 from Roberts. That in a season where Bamford scored 2, Joffy 2 and Greenwood 0. All three of those will score more goals this year never mind the new boys! With the change in focus at set pieces, we will also get more goals from defence to chip in. Obviously the extra striker is a key purchase so important to get it right.

Hope so El Spagnole.

I already went through our goals scored late last week, Baz. Realistically if we add another striker we could potentially be a further 10 goals better off than last season, and that was while discounting contributions from Aaronsen and Sinisterra, even while losing Raph's goals. 10 more goals than last season would have us as 9th top scorers in the league. That would be immense. And considering we look a lot more resolute defensively the goals scored will only be compounded by us conceding less. I do feel your worries are a bit overblown, but I do agree we need a new striker ASAP.

Baz…. in respect to how many goals we will score, with or without the new promised striker, well I am confident we will score than last year. I think we will get more from the midfield for sure. Can Bamford replace the Raph goals… I think so. Rodrigo and Harrison repeat last year and yes, I think we will score 10+ more goals than last year. More importantly, we will concede less, even if that is immaterial, i.e we lose 2-0 instead of 6-2. I think we will get more from the big 6 this year….44 - 46 points for me.
