Again thought Roca looks decent, bit more match fitness and could be a fantastic buy.
Also thought Adams and rasmus had good minutes and what a few saves from meslier.
I know it's early days but very concerned about creativity and scoring, bamford looks very behind in fitness and as stated numerous times, not a great finisher.
We look too narrow and attack's keep breaking down, essential we invest in a goal scorer otherwise think we in trouble.
Need that creative player to link play too, sure we have a time till window closes but KO only 3 weeks away.
With sale of Kp and raphi, they're around nil spend, need at least 3
LB, creative MF and striker.

Yep you are preaching to. tne converted re what is needed and it is approaching some urgency.

As things stand tme current squad is a bottom 3 to 4 club there are very few goals in it.

18 Jul 2022 11:29:12
What have you been told about negativity Baz! Now go and sit down and write 500 lines saying… I must trust Radz and Victor to bring in the right players and I must stop talking about how bad we will be this season! ??.

18 Jul 2022 11:34:59
Baz how do come to that assessment with only a couple of pre season games and one where we scored 6 goals and comparing us with perhaps the likes of Southampton, Everton etc who haven’t invested as much as we have so far in the transfer window.

18 Jul 2022 11:39:34
Lol Woody but this is how it is as things stand imho.
And my patience, trust and confidence in tne dynamic duo is wearing thin.

18 Jul 2022 11:43:34
We could win 15 games 1 v 0, and draw 5 0 v 0, 50 points mid table safety easily achieved, by only scoring 15 goals ???.

18 Jul 2022 11:49:04
You are off your head Baz if you think that we're going to be a bottom 3-4 team. We've got a lot more depth this season than last. Even losing KP and Raph the players we've brought in have improved 1st team depth and overall squad depth. Have a word with yaself.

We've still got time to buy a striker, too. And I expect we will. I'd rather we take some time and get it right than rush buying for the sake of just getting someone in. Personally I'd wait until window is done before complaining again pal.

18 Jul 2022 11:53:33
OP not convinced by our squad as it stands, Southampton and Everton have better

Richie re your 15 goal mid table nonsense . its never happened before in previous EPL seasons. teams that score less than 35 goals tend to be R.

18 Jul 2022 12:00:37
So Dill the Oracle lol just for record where are you predicting Leeds finish and which teams will definitely finish belpw Leeds?

Should be interesting

Let's hope you are right about signing a quality striker but in my opinion we need two new strikers or at least one and a goalscoring attacking midfielder.

18 Jul 2022 12:10:08
What everyone except Baz said.

18 Jul 2022 12:27:38
I think we'll do better than last season given what I mentioned above. Plenty of teams haven't invested much if at all this window, some even losing players without buying well. Taking that into account I think we'll survive fairly comfortably. But even without looking at other teams around us, we look more defensively assured, both tactically and in terms of player performance and I am confident we will add a quality striker this window, only adding another positive signing to our first team squad and overall squad depth.

Predicting bottom 3-4 is just wild all things considered. We're in a superior place than we were this time last season and can only see us getting better and pushing on with extra signings and more responsible tactics.

18 Jul 2022 13:08:28
Ok Dill so it seems you are suggesting Leeds finish mid table

So can I assume that you're predicting that Leeds are finishing above the 3 promoted teams, Brentford, Palace, Everton, Southsmpton? Wolves, Brighton? Leicester even?

Georgey so like Richie are you hypothesising that Lèeds could attain 20 clean sheets this season? ?.

18 Jul 2022 13:28:20
Baz are you sure about Everton having a better squad than us. They’ve just sold probably their best player and goal scorer in Richalison and they’ve only brought in one free transfer that being Tarkowski the thug. DKL has mental health issues and the glue that held Everton together in Duncan Ferguson has left.
From where I’m standing they are in a far worse situation than us, they also know they can’t spend any money due to FFP.
Let’s not forget Fat Frank also who will be sacked before Christmas.

18 Jul 2022 14:08:02
Not really a fan of picking a specific number Baz, but I do think 12th or 13th is attainable given our squad. And yes, I expect all three promoted clubs to finish below us, plus Brentford, Palace, Everton, Southampton and potentially one other club.

I am definitely positive about our chances the coming season.

18 Jul 2022 14:13:54
OP as I said ' as things stand ' I don't rate our squad to create and score enough goals.

Everton squad is currently better than Leeds.

A few deluded posters on here.

18 Jul 2022 14:49:35
Baz For right now, I have our beloved coming in at 15th but with correct further additions I can see that improving into the 10th to 12th range.

18 Jul 2022 15:15:33
Correct Baz, you are deluded thinking we will finish bottom 3-4 ?.

18 Jul 2022 15:25:14
Tbh I think even with how bad our injuries were last season, we could've still taken a few more points and were unlucky to do so in some games.

Look at it this way, our first team isn't decimated by injuries this season, we've added depth and we are far more resolute defensively with our tactics. We only need 8-10 points more than last seasons tally to finish towards mid table.

I don't see how that isn't attainable, given the reasons mentioned above. Add another striker into the mix and we can be leaps and bounds above what we achieved last season.

18 Jul 2022 15:28:20
My 15 1 0 was posted in jest, but you take that how it is when actually its a fact but jesting yes it wouldn't happen. Similar to the gooners who go on about the unbeatables when actually you could go a season unbeaten and be relegated
5 teams worse then us, yes IMO we should be aiming for the 11 -15 bracket,
Althrough our title winning season baz posted negative, last season it was negative and frankly i respect your opinion but the negativity bores me, we haven't kicked a ball in anger yet, so take a chill pill and let's ride the roller coaster that is leeds. If after 10 games we are struggling then come on with the negativity. Ill many may well agree.
I truly hope its reverse psychology, think the worse then if the worse happens your not dejected.
MOT.

18 Jul 2022 15:30:53
Agreed Dilli.

18 Jul 2022 15:46:26
Lol Dill ? but I made this prediction last season too and was lambasted for it . but I was proved correct as usual ?.

18 Jul 2022 15:58:54
Baz No lambast from me.

18 Jul 2022 16:22:33
Richie likewise I respect your opinion too sorry you consider it negative but
I call it REALISM as indeed what I stated would happen last season indeed happened.

Let's certainly hope for a good season though which will be far, fat more likely when/ if those CFs CAM. and LB are signed.

Dill ; you make some decent points.

18 Jul 2022 17:34:39
Yes Baz you did but you didn’t predict all our injuries, mainly long term to key players, We had a decimated squad and we still weren’t relegated which I believe you did predict. Too easy to sit on your condemnations without taking any consideration.
We probably will finish the season in the lower half but no where near relegation zone or even in it which I’m sure you would prefer. There’s no satisfying some fans, they’ve bought players which the fans demanded, so what’s the problem?
Perhaps you would prefer we break the FFP rules or buy elite players whose salaries we can’t afford.
I guess some people just want to see the bad in everything. !

18 Jul 2022 18:00:05
Baz, last year you stated lots of things including that Burnley definitely would t be relegated and would finish above Everton and Leeds! Hope you didn’t bet your house on it.

Of course we’re a work in progress and I’m keen to see how he stops this narrow style being beaten by overpowering us out on the wings with quick breaks. But I like what we’ve done so far. Managing the Bielsa transition and the loss of KP and Raph is hard but I’ve thing we’ve handled it well. We’ll play some good football, we’ll buy a striker, possibly a left back but not really bothered about a back up goalie.
The the Dane is going to become a legend, Roca revived, The Americans will deliver and we won’t be in the relegation fight.

18 Jul 2022 18:28:19
Actually Top 6 OP, I specifically stated at the end of the summer window that Leeds would be in deep trouble especially with key injuries to key players with no cover,

Of course I didn't foresee Bamford 5 injuries being out for nearly whole season but tbe CF recruitment I was banging on about that we should have bought would have helped immensely in this regard.

18 Jul 2022 18:32:28
Spanish I was very nearly right about Burnley that went on a storming run from nowhere.

Be honest if the Saudi barcodes had turned up for the beach final day of season Leeds would be down instead of Burnley.

As for Everton and Fat Frank he got very lucky with his pals of Chelski gifting them 3 points and crucially Pickford hitting top form ; but even then they were only marginally safe.

18 Jul 2022 19:23:14
Guess we can all posit our own opinions and reasonings why expectations are so different from others, but personally I prefer the old half cup full method and remain positive about our new season until there's reasons to become negative.

So far it's all looking good and I have faith in our squad this coming season. As Richie mentions, if 10 games in we have reasons to complain then I think that's fair start holding people, be it coach, board or players accountable. Atm I don't think it's fair or right to complain considering how things are presently.

We are moving in the right direction.
