Louis sinisterra Looks an amazing signing if completed predominately played on the left.
Does that mean Harrison leaving will fund the deal? That’s ok if you have bought an upgrade, however, Harrison has proven he can score goals at this level, either bamford or Joffy get injured……mmmm we must add someone with the knack of scoring.

Dries Martens on a free would be good guy certainly knows where the onion bag is.

Sounds onimous to me.

Spot on Class

Harrison is a proven EPL goalscorer now, losing him and Raph. our 2 top goalscorers. well.

Radz talks about wanting to emulate the Leicster model .

but don't recall Leicester ever selling their three ( of) best players in one window

Cant sell KP, Raph, and Harrison and expect anything other than serious terminal regression.

04 Jul 2022 17:56:00
I’m hoping the KP and Raph deals will be financing this move . Selling Harrison will be a big mistake in my opinion . He has the effort, commitment and attitude that we need, just a little
More consistency to his game and I feel
He can be a major play for us .

Who says that signing Sinisterra would mean Harrison going - enough with the panicking. Harrison has played on the left wing many times in his career and being left footed would suggest he could be a more potent goal threat as an inverted winger on at side - as Raphinha himself is. The stats bear this out, with 15 goals in 81 games, compared with 21 in 124. It’s only a marginal difference, and most of his games on the right wing were in his early career, particularly with New York City - yes it’s an easier league to play in, but he was also younger and less experienced. Most would agree he’s a better player than when he joined us, so it would be interesting to see how he would perform on the right now.

Both Harrison and Sinisterra are very capable with their weaker foot, so in reality each could play on either side for us.

04 Jul 2022 18:28:36
What Cluey said. Luis is right footed.

04 Jul 2022 18:43:43
Lots of switching wings during the games. Always causes problems. I like the idea.

04 Jul 2022 19:20:46
I don’t see us selling Harrison at all . I’m pretty sure the money for Raph and KP will be funding these moves for us . I like what we are doing . Midfield was weak for us, when KP was injured we were really scraping the barrel trying to fit players in out of position. I think the back line is good enough if we have less of a gung ho approach and a solid centre mid to protect it .

04 Jul 2022 19:30:42
Indeed Class left footed / right footed standing on their head, ?!

What the stats also bear out is we were the 4th worse at putting the round leather thing between the 2 sticks with a net last season .

All these signings are of course to be welcomed, however if there's not a proper #9 purchased then the problem of hitting that net regularly enough throughout season is going to persist . That's as sure as night follows day.

04 Jul 2022 20:50:00
That certainly didn't help us last season Chris, but you also have to take into account the fact we had a very poor midfield that were outclassed in almost every game so we didn't really create all that many good chances. With a better midfield players like Joffy and even Rodrigo should get better chances and its easier to score.

04 Jul 2022 21:12:46
Chris, it would seem CDK is our primary target for that #9 role, and Orta will have at least 2 other options if he proves to be out of reach. As George said previously, having quality signings through the door in other positions, each with European experience, would help Uncle Victor make a far more convincing case about our ambitions and ability to make a significant step forward from last season’s travails.

If he goes cap in hand to a quality CF straight after last season - with no other signings in place and with it being general knowledge that one or both of our best players would be leaving, that player would just have laughed and told him to p*$$ off.

04 Jul 2022 21:49:12
Sorry Clue, I don't subscribe to the point of view . I also doubt if CDK will be the #9 we speak off when the season kicks off .

Using the logic of new midfielders enticing a quality #9, can you definitely say that CDK knows absolutely anything of worth about most of our new signings?

As a 21 year old lad my guess is no, as that's how 99.9% of kids that age conduct themselves . And that's no disrespect. to him whatsoever .

As I have said numerous times I am just fearful of what cash is going to be left for a #9 by end of window .
Yes Alf I agree with you in respects of our midfield being fairly weak last season and as I have said a few times already, I am happy we are buying players just fearful of us not getting the main 1 right .

I only mentioned that stat, as stats were being used in the thread already prior to my reply .

Here's hoping Victor gets this handsomely right and blowsy thoughts sky high ?.

04 Jul 2022 23:10:20
I just hope that it doesn't turn into a window where no (quality ) CF at all is bought at all!

04 Jul 2022 23:20:43
Chris - I also doubt CDK will come to us, but as I said there will be at least 2 fallback options. You would be surprised how much some footballers know about footballers playing in other leagues, particularly those playing in European competitions. In the case of CDK, Brugge played Leipzig in the Champions League last season, so while Adams only came on as a sub in the second game, CDK will have been made aware of him. Salzburg dumped Brugge out of the Europa League three seasons ago 5-2 on aggregate, so while CDK wasn’t in the first team then, and Aaronson and Rasmus were not in the Salzburg squad then either, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Brugge squad had followed Salzburg’s progress in the CL last season in case their paths crossed again. Brugge we’re due to play Feyenoord in a friendly this January, but the game was cancelled at short notice due to CV19 cases - so the chances are Brugge’s squad was aware of the players they were due to face, including Sinisterra. Also, many footballers take a great interest in their own ratings on the FIFA game and many, particularly the younger ones play the game in their spare time, and will get to know of lot of other players and their attributes in that way too. So there’s a reasonable chance CDK will have knowledge of most if not all of our new signings - and the chances are that our other potential CF targets will too. If we were to bring in CDK, chances are he’d be our most expensive signing, so clearly the Club are planning to have a decent wedge left for a new CF.

What Cluey said.

05 Jul 2022 06:47:36
I really hope your right Clue, as Charles does seem to have something about him . Would be a fantastic window if he arrived, ???.
