All fake news and crap flying around Leeds United as always but what do you think of Charlie Taylor coming back lads? I wouldn't say no as I think he's better than Firpo, even though that doesn't say a lot! ??.

Agree2 Disagree0

Noor, not for me, we should be looking for much better, he’s a good Championship/ PL relegation team player, plus he couldn’t wait to get away from Leeds, why want him back.

21 Jun 2022 21:08:48
No from me on this occasion, though I did think the same thing for a while. He made his bed, so I hope he wet it before he has to lie in it! ???.

Woody who isn't better than Firpo?

Heard that Orta and Co weren't even looking for another LB . clueless if so.

We need a new striker, but a goal scoring one, not his type!

Baz Think they want to give Firpo a chance. He's not PL level sadly. Recruiting Aina in these circumstances makes sense.

Charlie Taylor, Really? Now that really warrants a AGAIN.

MG - There is an alternative narrative on Charlie Taylor, which has been raised on here before that the prevailing thought that the lad refused to play for us in order to ‘force’ a move to Burnley is a complete fallacy, cooked up by Gary Monk. That narrative also suggests that, still being a Leeds fan, and still living locally, he would jump at the chance to come back.

I would like to see Firpo given the opportunity of redemption after what was undeniably a poor season, for a whole variety of reasons, many of which were beyond his control. Having a solid, if not spectacular, backup like Charlie Taylor would give many of us a bit of assurance, and would also provide someone for Firpo to learn basic defensive craft from.

Cluey I've come across this Monk theory before so a question ❓ for you. If Monk theory true, why didn't CT come out afterward and tell the "truth" and his side of it and that he was effectively dropped? Why are there later reports allegedly from the player himself stating his conduct before the move is his biggest regret in his career? Don't add up if he was dropped and willing to play.

I would give Taylor a go at tge right price. Can't blame him for wanting to leave and be a PL player.

22 Jun 2022 19:21:24
Whatever happened regarding Taylor's departure, he was a young lad badly advised. I would be pleased to see him back at the right price.

George - didn’t say I necessarily subscribe to that alternative narrative. However, while the lad said he regrets the way he left Leeds, not sure he actually admitted to refusing to play. It would have been quite possible for him to have left in acrimonious and regrettable circumstances without making such a refusal.

Whatever the truth of that matter, what is beyond doubt is that the lad remains a Leeds fan, and his regret of the manner of his departure would probably only increase his desire to do well for the Club if given a second chance. After all, it’s not like he went to Devon, Chelsea or that Turkish team….

Cluey Very good post. So get on the blower to Unclue (that's a humorous variation of Uncle) and tell him get her done! CT can play LB, would be good all round.
