Aina has played a lot of games as left wing back as well as right, could be a useful player as I think has also been utilised in midfield as well . Dallas-esque.

It's a no -no from me on Aina please .

Can we just stop with the far too many ( hopefully ) transfers .

I know it's going to cost more but can we not try for a near enough to the top striker, instead of wingers or full backs .

We need goals, and lots of um, so let's spend big for the big need we have.

We need a LB though Chris. Aina is a real quality option for that position.

Risdale is that you?

CC Did it ever occur to you that improving options and squad depth elsewhere may facilitate attracting the sort of striker required and without such improvements he will likely decline. Otherwise not easy to recruit an excellent costly striker when the buying club attempting to recruit took until the last minute of injury time in the last game of last season to evade demotion from the EPL. Can you name an example in yesteryear of a team who avoided such calamity with the narrowest of time remaining and then in the very next window ? signed a striker similar in quality to the caliber you seek? Realism dictates you improve the periphery before you go for the nub.

I agree George but with far more stooopider words than you used.

12 Jun 2022 16:34:39
George of course it occurred to me, but just say using the example of Villa when they narrowly ztayed up they then strengthened throughout , albeit debatable about the result of that .

My point is based on the assumption that we have a limited transfer pot, so signing 4-5 players sounds perfect, but as we all know 9's are the top price range, so each signing is reducing the calibre of ultimately a position WE HAVE TO IMPROVE, last season is history already George so come August we need goals immediately, so improve the periphery all you want as Leeds scored very high on stats but very low on goals, and that as we all know is the ultimate stat .

CC Read what you say and I agree but football don't work that way. We're linked with Minamino Eli's Adamu and Diaz. We were linked with Nketiah. That'll do for me right now. We don't have the wealth or standing to attract a truly top name. Therefore what you do is accept that and build in other areas of the pitch. Time for a truly top name striker shall be in the summer of 2024 onward once we're more established. May I also remind you there's a stadium ?️ to expand which will require serious funding. One has to be realistic.

George, I fully aware we never going to get a Haaland esque type striker

That's why I said NEAR ENOUGH to the top, along the likes of, Plato or Gouiri, which I feel we could attract, but as I said they will cost a hefty premium also . So keeping the cash we have for the main prize is more important I. M. O.
