People on here rattling off some poor signings today.

Cmon lads. We can do better than 90% of names mentioned.

First and foremost we want players who compliment our style and formation. Secondary we want players who've had a great season in their respective teams and leagues, and thirdly, we really want internationals as it shows their quality beyond their own league.

I wouldn't settle for anything less than BRENDAN AARONSEN (already a done deal pretty much so won't elaborate)

*SEKO FOFANA - CM. Box to box mid in the mould of Yaya Toure (RC Lens captain, Ivory Coast International and in the Ligue 1 team of the season - was arguably the best player in the league 21/ 22) . Unreal talent.

*LUKAS NMECHA - CF, but also has versatility. Big, strong, creative and a finisher. (Wolfsburg striker, played CL football this term and is a fully fledged German international. Played for Citeh, knows the league. Has come on leaps and bounds this past season) .

*OLA AINA - LB, RB, LM, RM. Versatile af and a real quality operator. (Nigeria International, Been one of Torino's standout players this term, Played at Chelsea, Hull, Fulham and knows the league. Has improved exponentially in the past 3 seasons. )

Why settle for sh! te when there are exceptional, young yet experienced players available in Europe who also know the Prem.

Be smart with our transfers to improve the team, not bang average players who don't improve the first team one bit.

Sorry for the rant.

Dillinger, great post mate,

26 May 2022 18:04:43
Dillinger - I’d be happy with any/ all of those. We were linked with both Ola Aina (supposedly fell through due to injury to Torino’s new RB signing) and Seko Fofana in January, and were first linked with Nmecha in 2018. Orta is hopefully still tracking all three, but I guess other clubs will be too, so I hope that if we are working on any of them it’ll be under the radar until they turn up for a medical, ready to sign on the dotted line.

With Aaronson now signed, Orta is said to be hoping to tie up one or two further deals in the next couple of weeks, to get our plans for the summer off to a decent start.

Good post Dillinger can someone forward these players details to Victor Orta and Co.

26 May 2022 20:03:51
Baz - I think you’ll find Victor Orta and Co are more than aware of those players.

Fecking stop it Baz. New season, new chapter. Just breathe!

Yes Clu I do know ; my comment was a tad in jest however I do wish I was more trusting of Victor's capabilities.

Ok ok ok got it 😃 Calm down Brighty lad.

Hopefully we get some mire deals tied up in the ext few weeks, Clue. Get them integrated ASAP.

I realise my list would be a perfect scenario, rather than reality, but targeting that level of players should be out priority. None of them would break the bank either. £20-30 each at most. Aina probably less.

And if Raph goes there would also be an opportunity to replace him, too.

I think we've got plenty of squad players, but we really need first team starters, and these would all fit the bill, in my eyes.

My ideal team for 22/ 23:

Meslier (with a veteran back up GK to push him)

Aina
Llorente
Koch
Drameh

Phillips
Fofana
Harrison
Aaronson

Nmecha
Bamford

Squad players:
Vet GK (I'd take any of Johnstone, Foster, Begovic)
Dallas
Ayling
Struijk
Shackleton
Cooper
Forshaw
Klich.

Cresswell
Summerville
James
Gelhardt
Greenwood

(Sorry in 2 posts, I hit reply by accident)

Dilli GK wise I'd like us to go for Pope.
