Only my opinion but feel we need a big clear out and intake, the squad not good enough and we got very lucky this season.
Raphi going unfortunately, we needed to show ambition last summer and build a team around him but didn't and that's why and fair. Hope we can get 60-80mil for him, nice mark up on investment of 17mil. I would also sell Harrison and James, if rumors of 40+ for Harrison, we can do better with those funds and if can get 20mil for James then do it. I'd go for Noa Lang
and cornet.
In defense, sell Llorente, he is overrated and we can do better, bring a quality CB to partner struijk or Cresswell, do like Vestergaurd.
Sell Firpo, waste of time, not sure of which LB but I'd controversially go in for Charlie Taylor, he can defend and fantastic crosser.
Into MF, feel we need to retain Phillips, sell klich, Roberts and Rodrigo (?35mil combined) seems Brendan Arrensen just about done.
Then go for winks to partner Phillips and lastly and think I will get lambasted for this?, sell bamford too.
I don't rate him, one decent season but misses so many chances, he has no speed and never seems to look like scoring with his head and just not clinical enough.
Go try get Mitzi Bytshyi and or Pulasic
Need 2nd GK ( dubravka, darlow)
Outgoings 205mil
Raphi 60mil, Llorente 20, Firpo 10, klich 10, Roberts 5, Rodrigo 20, Harrison 30, James 20,
Forshaw 10, bamford 30

Incomings cost 160mil
Vestergaurd or CB 20, Taylor 15, winks 25, arreson 25, Lang 30, cornet 25, Baytsyi 40,

Would also like to see in team/ squad, drameh, boguz, Summerville, Dallas, Ayling, Gelhardt, Cooper, Cresswell, heldje, Greenwood

Meslier
Drameh vestergaurd Struijk Taylor
Lang Winks Phillips Cornet
Baytsyi Arreson

Wow that post got away from me, sure you'll say too many changes, but current players not good enough, just my fantasy mind taking over, going to be a long off season.

Too many changes changes the heart too.
Struik not prem quality. Nor is roberts, liorehte, James, Rodrigo.
I’d keep the heart. Ayling, cooper, Phillips, Harrison, Bamford. They make Leeds tick.
Add the youngsters.
Only need 5 good ones.

Mshutter, i appreciate your opinion and respect it, but Vestergard has been poor all season for leicester no better than koch or loreinte
And 10 mill 4 klich i wish but doubt very much.

Ms - I’d agree with Aus that there’s a few too many changes in there. I’d def keep Harrison, and but let James go if we were to upgrade with someone with more end product, like Noa Lang. Bamford should stay if it is truly believed he can properly recover from his foot issues and we bring in another quality experienced CF to compete/ rotate with him. We would be unlikely to get anything like £10m for Klich and I’d be tempted to keep him as we need a few characters in the squad. Forshaw also unlikely to raise much, but I’d let him go, as he deserves to get regular games when fit, but we need someone more dynamic added to DM/ CM ranks. Winks would be a no for me, as he’s not much of an upgrade. Vestergaard hasn’t been great at Leicester, I’d rather have Koch in there (yes to Llorente sale) with Cresswell as his backup at right CB.

Aus - Struijk is actually Prem quality and will become better, not been helped by skittish performance of Llorente and constant changes/ patchy performances from Firpo/ Dallas. There is a reason why both Netherlands and Belgium want Struijk to commit to them at National level.

Agree that it probably would be too many changes but the players I’ve listed are not good enough If we want to progress in this league, it needs change
Think Bielsa had a hard on for James and not he not been good and prefer him to go before Harrison, was just reacting to the possibility of his switch to spurs for big money
Definitely need a LB, 2nd GK, creative MF and quality striker, but have 5-6 woeful players.
Hope I’m proved wrong re Bamford, but I don’t rate him, maybe ok for forward competition.

I'm with Mshuter on Bamford, terrible injury record and poor conversion rate.
We missed his pressing and work rate this season for sure, but the season before we all complained about how many relatively easy chances he missed.
Happily keep him but if an offer over 25 mill is there then I'd take it for sure.

Out (with what I believe realistic fee) . Raphinha 55-70m. Its going to happen may as well make peace with it.

Desired Outs: Rodrigo (max 7.5m at 31 and poor form, likely only market Spain/ Portugal where teams don't have money. May take a wage hit too) .

Costa: Above practically the same.
Casilla - Free transfer if we're lucky and off the hook for wages. Season loan with only percentage covered if not.

Shackleton - hasn't kicked on - 5-7.5m to a upper championship team with clauses such as promotion maybe bringing it to 10m.

Kenneh (already gone, shame thought he had a chance) .

Roberts - 4m to Championship team, again with some clauses bringing it to 7m if met.

Phillips - not for sale this year if/ when we sell Raph.
Harrison - has a price but its high - 40m. Not looking to sell.
Klich/ Forshaw - past their best but sale value not high on age and injury record/ form - have some use as backup roles then release.

That's about 90m in fees brought in + whatever Radz and Co. would spend hope that brings fees to around 135m. Take 25m off for Arronson in 110m.

Ramsay I think would cost 7.5m (rising to 12.5m with clauses) The kid is great based on the season he's had and if they know Liverpool interested they're not going to let him go cheap so 102.5m left if we get him.

Unnamed Prem Striker according to Phil Hay - no idea who but if Nketiah free agent.

Leaves around 100m for a Raph replacement, another cm, a lb and maybe a veteran GK to backup Meslier.

That would be seven in seven out, but the likes of Hjelde and Drameh will add some depth at the back and buying two mids (one being arronson) to relegate Forshaw and Klich as depth pieces.

Raph going should only be a given if a good bid is lodged. should be at least £60 million more like £70 million

But a derisory offer with another Barcelona fringe player thrown in should be resisted

With the World Cup coming up Raph will want to be playing well next season to be selected so would not down tools next season.

26 May 2022 15:48:30
Baz - you are likely correct that Raphinha wouldn’t down tools. As you say, he’s going to want to impress ahead of the World. Cup, plus while some seem to think he is prone to sulking, I feel his expressions and demeanour have been misread. He has more likely been annoyed that the team was getting on shafted by bad fortune and poor/ one-eyed officials - he wants the team to be competitive and treated fairly. Improvement in the squad will help us compete, but I guess the officials will probably continue to be ‘poor’. I also don’t thihink he’d wish to sour his relationship with us fans.

Barca should know that his value is likely to go up if he has a decent World Cup. If they really want him, it would seem to be in their interest to find a way to afford him now.
