Of course we would’ve preferred 3pts to the one, but did we deserve it?, my answer would be no, we didn’t, a draw was a fair result in this game and a point is a point in the right direction.
The reason we didn’t win this game is because we are a struggling team that lacks confidence, that is still evident in our wayward passing, positioning and players not reading each other. However, as always I like to look for the positives in our game and the one thing that I can draw upon is that our defending is improving. It’s still a little shaky but vastly improved from over a month ago.
It may sound a bit harsh on Meslier but I think even he would agree that he got his positioning a fraction wrong on their free kick. I think he showed just a little too much of the goal, Ward-Prowse goal was not tucked away in the very corner of the goal.
All in all I still think a point is still very positive when you consider where we are, especially with Watford and Burnley losing.
We can definitely take some pressure off ourselves if we get a win at Watford but the most important is that we don’t lose the game.

It was still a bloody good free kick though. We must have had about 5 great free kicks scored against us this year.

The confidence issue is for sure our biggest challenge, and therefore Jesse’s biggest challenge, agreed OP. Hopefully he’s ramping up the very positive periods of the game to the lads! 👍🏻.

Deserve or not OP, points ( more so than performances) are only really what matter now at tbe end of tbe season

It was imperative that Leeds found a way, deserved or not, to attain 3 vital points. Conceding their goal was thoroughly avoidable ( tbe unnecessary stupid foul on tbe edge of tbe area when WP was going nowhere surrounded by 5 players
plus
Mesliers suspect positioning again)

Abd yea Raph assisted but his mediocre performance yet again for his natural talent was most disappointing . His ballooned shot over tbe bar symptomatic of his desire efforts to score , and yes he has missed several easy chances to score several goals over the past games. Hmmm.

As I’ve already said Baz it not for no reason that we are flirting with relegation, wins do not come easy because the players are nervous, their confidence is sapped and they don’t believe so easily. That includes Raph.

03 Apr 2022 14:55:58
Baz - with that “Hmmm” are you trying to suggest that Raphinha is deliberately fluffing his chances to score?

03 Apr 2022 15:11:15
He simply isny giving 100% Clu playing well within himself. more than capable of scoring those fluffed chances . only he will know for sure deliberate or otherwise.

What Baz said. He tried an elaborate chip when a standard hit would've seen the ball travel on target 🎯 and quicker. I'd bench him for Hornets clash. Play Joffy up top, James and Harrison on wings with Raph and Jimbo ready to come on. I'd also drop Llorente for Cressy.

03 Apr 2022 17:38:39
What George said all of it.

03 Apr 2022 18:01:23
I’d only agree with leaving Llorente out, he really is struggling with his game at the moment. Definitely Joffy to start but leave Raph out at your peril, if he’s unable to score at present then he will most certainly assist one. Too valuable to leave out.

03 Apr 2022 20:31:31
Leaving Rapha out would be management suicide for Jesse. Especially if we went behind! The boy is more vital in the games against our opposition in the battle to stay up. Plus, while people are questioning Ralph’s application, would dropping him motivate him? I think not. I would look more at a fluidity of wingers switching sides, keep the opposition thinking, mess with their marking plans.

Fair, well reasoned points Brighty.

03 Apr 2022 21:16:54
If raph does nothing all game he certainly makes defenders panic and double up on him leaving space for others.

04 Apr 2022 05:34:44
Brighty Actually I think being benched would motivate him. He's world class yes but I didn't enjoy his scuffed skied chip trying to look fancy instead of placing the best interest of LUFC first. He's guaranteed to get 2nd half action against tired legs and will want to prove a point. Harsh reality is he will only play in 7 more fixtures for us before departing for the Nou Camp. It is for these reasons why it's anything but risky for Jesse.
