Secondly that Fabrizio Romano seems to get things more often wrong than right

The "jog on" approach only works for a time. Raph can reject big money moves to EPL CL clubs in the summer, then before you know it season starts window closes, and after few months then it's the WC. Raph returns a hero, his valuation has soared but now there's only 11 months to wait before he can formally negotiate with the Spanish club. Will take 💩 from fans for not signing an improved contract during the 11 months but he can just wait it out.

I’d say if the wc scenario happens then isn’t he worth more to us for the next 2 seasons to help push the club forward than a poultry £25m? Unless his attitude turns and he sulks. Let him leave for free in 2.5 years time or demand not a penny less than £70m or £50 and Trincao. Use the rest of that money on Fofana and Aaronson, sign a left back, right back, decent keeper and a striker than we are set for next season.

Difference is that Wet Sham aren't desperate for money like we are. By showing we have no lonely by spending virtually nothing and pleading poverty for the last 2 windows clubs will think we don't have any money and will offer lower amounts, which we can't afford to turn away.
