Aus I'll tell you why.
1. Barcelona understand Raph wants to play for them and only them.
2. Deco his agent used to play for Barcelona so they know there's a solid trustworthy relationship there.
3. Barcelona understand that Raph is frustrated with Leeds and isn't interested in their "project" anymore.
4. Barcelona understand that Raph has a 4 year contract at Leeds but almost half of it has expired. Therefore, in their eyes, because only half the contract remains in duration terms they can offer about half the release clause which is reportedly £62.5m and knock off the signing on fee hence the £29m derisory offer.
Leeds need to do something to remind everyone of their clout but we are still in a relegation battle so unsure what that is. For £29m, we may as well keep Raph. Again, I see the prospect of an ugly Bosman transfer developing in 2024. Do you comprehend it now, Aus?

Apparently we are interested in 2 Barcelona players. Riqui Puig (loves the ladies) and defender Oscar Mingueza. Cash plus those 2 surely under mutual consideration?

Ed001 Wasn't aware of the drunkenness but that only reinforces my points. Both parties therefore probably see Raph's incoming transfer as a settling of the historic wrongdoing, atonement.

I read a few months back that, Deco had been appointed Barcelona's Chief scout for South America. Not sure if that's true or not. I also remember the story that Ed001 has mentioned. At the time Barcelona were very careful with the influences around a very young, Messi. Ronaldinho being one, and as Ed mentioned, Deco being a, shall we say less than desirable influence. It's an interesting one if true that, he is now a chief scout as well as being an agent. Very interesting if, Laporta was the Barcelona President at the time of offloading, Deco in his playing days because, he is once again president now. It gives Barcelona the opportunity to tie down any South American talent that, Deco represents. George has mentioned the potential Bosman saga, and I agree, but think it could very well play a part in forcing a move in the Summer. I just feel with two years remaining on Rapha's contract it is a long wait for him at 25 to see his contract out for the move. Radz hasn't done too terribly negotiating fees for those that have departed, with the likes of Viera sold, and the fee used to bring Bamford in. Clarke, and Wood, good and decent fees. I hope they get their asking price for, Raphinha, and most importantly that the money is then invested well in areas across the first team squad.
