Gotta be honest.
If we were to sell raph. Let's hope for at least 60-70 mill. I would not buy a winger. I'd spend it on out and out striker.
Then if we offload a few and use a few youngsters would prob only need to spend about another 50 on decent Phillip partner.
And as someone says buy some freebies like Barca. If we are smart about it we can get quality. Rather than wasting 20 mill here and there on possible superstars like Kent and Obrien etc.

Problem is that finding a striker of this value and quality might not want to come to a team that has been in a relegation position for most of the season.

Agree OP, particularly as we have shown a complete lack of ambition this season.

Cant see us spending that sought of money on 1 player imo
25 mill tops on 1 player imo.

That’s what I’m saying. We got lucky with raph but no good prem players cost 20. When you look at sancho. U can waste 80. I get that.
Somebody also said the other day. Be like Leicester I think. Broaden or horizons.
Time to be smart.
No more cheap skating. If we survive this season. We should have learnt outesson.

If Raphinha is sold, it is likely the proceeds, together with other funds, would be spread over a number of new players for a number of positions, at a cost of £10-27m each, probably on players aged 20-25, who are already of a good standard but still have high potential to improve. Guess we can expect a couple further signings of potential gems for the U23s/ u18s, to help backfill for those moving up and so maintain the reinvigorated conveyor belt.

While some may be hoping Coops/ Klich/ Ayling are moved out, I’d be happy to see them remain, so long as they’re happy to accept a potentially diminishing part within the squad. They are each big characters within the squad and we’ve seen the effects of losing Alioski, Bera, and Pablo this season. I’d also be happy to see Coops et al starting on their coaching badges here (if they fancy going into coaching and haven’t already started) as having some of the current senior pros within the Academy setup would be great for further ingraining the positive elements of Bielsa’s legacy within our Club. Maybe in due course one or more of them could move into the first team coaching structure as Jacko has now under Marsch - as having that element of continuity over a period of time (under different managers, and possibly owners) may hopefully help us to retain a sense of what it is to be Leeds.

Good post Cluey.

A well balanced assessment Clu, a question about Marsch though, how long should he be given and what are the expectations of his tenure?
He will not be given the time or the respect that was given to MB, that is in my mind a certainty.

25 Mar 2022 17:03:28
Don’t see why he shouldn’t have the same respect that was shown to MB, he has shown that he has a plan B, willing to change things, keeps us up he will be the king of the town, or should be,

25 Mar 2022 17:13:53
OP Marsch will probably be here until at least the duration of his contract. Expectation? Realistically to challenge the league position of Spuds and Wet Sham in that time so around the 7th mark league wise with respectable cup runs. Anything more unrealistic. Respect? You have to earn respect. If he stays in the league this season, he'll have quite a bit of respect coming his way.
