Done the math AGAIN and I reckon we need 16 points to be safe.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Radz has done the same and has concluded that is likely achievable with the present squad, this will keep his hand firmly out of his pockets and if I was him I would be the same.

It is easy to spend someone elses millions, if we can survive this year it makes no sense to splash the cash until summer ( apart from maybe Origi if relatively cheap) ( (there I go spending his millions) )

At this point Radz is more concerned about his exit strategy and maximising his take - it is after all a business regardless of what us supporters want.

Agree1 Disagree0

1970 George thinks a further 12 points will suffice. However, I see us getting more. Can see us finishing off the season with a points total of 39.

12 Jan 2022 15:40:47
I’ll be honest, 1970, that’s an astute, fair, and very honest assessment by you, and probably totally accurate perspective on Radz’s thinking. Let’s just hope it doesn’t blow up in his face, and shatter all of our dreams! Plus, if it is accurate, I hope he goes this summer!

12 Jan 2022 15:44:38
44 pts.

12 Jan 2022 17:32:22
1970 but as with good mathematicians it can go wrong and for us that’s the possibility of another 16 years away from the PL I just hope the gamble is the right way to go.

12 Jan 2022 18:02:54
1970, I also don’t think it’s necessary to buy in this window, our chance to do anything spectacular this season is over due to all the excessive injury problems, but I can see us finishing comfortably above the relegation zone.
George your call for Origi or Nketiah this month won’t happen, one, Origi’s value is probably around 10Mil but will go for free in the summer, he is a decent upgrade on Roberts though so gets a thumbs up from me.
Nketiah, decent but not good enough for Leeds, don’t think he’s better than Roberts.
I understand that fans are nervous about a relegation battle but I honestly can’t see it myself and our spending should be definitely done in the summer when prices and availability are obtainable.

I like the idea of getting someone in Jan though, even if for next season. Takes some players bit of time to acclimate to Bielsa's philosophy.

12 Jan 2022 19:36:46
Dillinger, unfortunately with a new manager coming in Radz doesn’t want to spend if any thing at all plus fpr which is making thing’s harder.

12 Jan 2022 19:46:56
Use the logic that we don't buy someone of worth in the next fortnight, we then scrape over the line avoid relegation by the smallest of margins.

Now here's where ye need to be very honest lads .

What type of player are we going to attract next July?

Journeymen and the likes looking for a few pound before retirement, and well used to relegation dogfights .

Because that will be the perception out there,!

Sad but true.

12 Jan 2022 20:46:22
Yep sadly and annoyingly Chris re future types of players LUFC may now attract ;

the LUFC 'top 6 to 8' horse may well now have truly bolted after a promising 9th place finish was NOT followed up by AR and co last summer in sufficient quality player recruitment to progress higher or even achieve similar

Whereas several other EPL clubs have strengthened and improved this season LUFC have most definitely regressed and that is most certainly not down solely to injuries ( OP)

this season has been a seriously wasted opportunity

LUFC need progressive very ambitious wealthy owners who are in it for the long haul : that clearly isn't '5 year AR' and his very apparent desire to move on in buying his next project an Italian club.

Disagree Chris, and Baz, pals. We stay up, then we, as Leeds Utd, will remain as attractive to anyone, especially the young and talented, who might find themselves starting / getting regular game time, plus those approaching their peak.

We stay up, we can get whoever we want. We are not, with respect, Norwich, Burnley, Watford etc etc, and look at some of the signings they have made. We stay up, then we are as attractive proposition as any top ten side, because we are Leeds, and this is the PL. so fingers crossed!

12 Jan 2022 22:12:46
I certainly hope you are proved right Brighty; I admire your nearly always positive points of view.

12 Jan 2022 22:38:35
Brighty Your post delusional. Champions League quality players and those accustomed to playing in that competition will want to join clubs competing in that competition. Last time I checked qualification entry for such isn't available for a club finishing 16th in the PL. Furthermore, such players cost big money and Radz won't spend.

12 Jan 2022 23:13:52
Massively agree with baz, George and Chris, we are in a lot weaker position regarding bringing in quality players.
We missed a massive opportunity last summer, finished 9th, just needed 3-4 additions to kick us on, I don’t think the teams from 4-12th have been great and could have been around Europe
Not only now are we less attractive to in comings but why should our best player raphi stay, we have shown lack of ambition.
If opti on the mark with Origi around 10 mil, it’s a no brainer, I would think 20 mil be great value for him.

13 Jan 2022 05:55:54
If by “delusional “ (yet another dig! ) , you mean “positive”, then you got me George.
I never mentioned CL quality players, as clearly they will only go to CL qualified clubs, but like I DID say, top talented young players, and those not yet at their peak WILL be interested in Leeds! Ok maybe “whoever we want” sounds different, but we realistically won’t be targeting CL players just yet.,

13 Jan 2022 11:30:30
Brighty We do well on the OFTF. However, with our injuries especially, we need immediate first team depth. If I was in charge, and bearing in mind the economic realities, I'd get O'Brien and Swift in and leave the higher bracket players until the summer if they're still available and haven't transferred in the next few weeks. Even harsher reality is we never replaced Pablo which was a massive Bub mistake.

13 Jan 2022 12:08:28
Agree on a number of points there George. O’Brien and swift, defo. And even letting Pablo go, let alone not replacing him, was nigh on criminal!

13 Jan 2022 14:37:10
letting Pablo go when you see a bench full of U23s on the bench all season in 1st team matches definitely a huge waste and fork up by Bielsa.
