As George says.
Crazy to buy James when we could have Origi or neiketa. Or both.
No sense at all.

Origi's contract ends in the summer. Likely available at a cut price in Jan if Liverpool add another striker this month.

Nketiah didn't really gel with our style, for my money.

Better neikata on the Bench than James.

12 Jan 2022 10:47:21
I guess so, but I still would go for other options well before Nketiah.

Been suggesting Origi for months, would be huge improvement and better than bamford.
Would also try cheeky bid for Harry winks, makes things tick.

John You are correct about Eddie but when the game had opened up and he came on last 25 minutes he proved a threat. Sort of player who bags you 10 league goals a season and you're wondering from where. Somewhat reminiscent of Carl Shutt. Nothing wrong with owning such a player unless you prefer Tyler Roberts coming on?

For Eddie, unless BamFord was injured again, it would be like jumping from frying pan to fire; he’s unhappy at Arsenal through lack of game time, so doubt he’d want to have the same situation. That said, I would love to get both of them as it would provide greater strength in depth vs what we have now. Origi is a great shout for sure! Winks would be a dream, but won’t happen this side of the next ten years!

Origi definitely a good fit for us. Hopefully Liverpool sign a replacement this month and we can put a cheeky bid in. They've been after Porto striker so who knows how things play out.

I think the priority has been and remains the midfield and our utter lack of creation - for me Swift would be the ideal signing this window.

12 Jan 2022 13:28:41
I’m sure if they were available, we’d of had them instead.

12 Jan 2022 15:24:49
I can see a team hopefully us picking up Eddie on a free in the summer but we'd still have to pay compensation to Arsenal because of his age. These matters tend to get settled via that tribunal thingy.

12 Jan 2022 16:39:31
Swift is out of contract in summer so there's business that can be done this month if Reading wanna cash in before he leaves for nowt in June. Nominal fee hopefully, £5m tops.

12 Jan 2022 19:07:20
Supposedly Swift has suggested he’s happy to stay at Reading for the rest of the season, to try to keep them from relegation, and Reading may well figure that it’s better for them financially to stay up and loose Swift for free in the summer.

Be a shame that, but you could be right.
