I know it’s only his first senior game for us, but hopefully a few more on here now feel the time Orta spent getting young Hjelde might actually have been time well spent.

Here’s hoping we’ll soon have some more experienced first team additions to enthuse about too.

Good to see Bate getting his first taste of senior minutes too. Considering the relative strength of the two match day squads, our lads didn’t do too badly, and we didn’t need any extra games this season anyway. Even so, how poor was that VAR review of their first goal? Really surprised how strong Moyes went with his squad today, given they have a Prem match on Wednesday (and only making subs in the last 15 mins) - maybe he decided to go weak in that game instead, as it’s only Norwich.

Clue I do agree I hope he replaces LLorente he’s a nightmare at best said from day one and he hasn’t improved at all.

Heldje looked very composed to be fair .

Yes here's hoping he's one that victor has gotten correct.

Agreed Clu re Hjelde, he impressed ; CB definitely his best position in preference to LB that he occasionally plays in U23s

As for the ref and VAR ref, its no wonder that most or all FA refs are no longer picked for World Cups and Euro Champs.

In cricket the 3rd umpire with the aid of technology seem to ALWAYS get the decisions correct, its a continued absolute embarrassment and scandal that the sport of football, specifically the woefully inept EPL and FA continue to fail in this.

Fair play to Moyes putting out a strong team. Shows he sees the importance of silverware to a club.

Funny how we see players differently. Llrorente to me is a class act. Ok he had a tough afternoon against a big forward but stuck at it and kept him scoreless. Just wish he’d cut out his occasional poor pass!

Whitey - It seems likely that (unless he too gets injured in training this week) Hjelde will play alongside Koch at CB next Sunday, due to Llorente’s one-match ban. If so, it’ll be interesting to see how that partnership works.

Clue agree I do hope he can prove a point, I think LLorente thinks he a jockey he’s always jumping on players backs, but I could be wrong Cork believe he will get better, it was a hard game player against 13 that referee and VAR. let’s hope some of the team are back for next weeks game I am getting fed up with my mate who’s West Ham fan Driving me mad.
