I’m probably going to be the only person who’s going to say it, but I thought Roberts had a decent game and against Brighton. Okay he hasn’t scored a goal yet but his possession and creativity is pretty good.
The talk is that he might be shipped out on loan in January if there’s no major improvement, now is his time to prove it.
I know how the narrative goes, we’re all so used to saying he’s crap but I can see some improvement in these last two games.
I’m going to cut him him some slack and hope, in my estimation, his improvement continues.
Great win tonight, good confidence booster. 👏🏻.

In terms of Roberts. He was anonymous for most of the game but had one good passage of play when he displayed good skill and went past a defender and earned a free kick. Apart from that - nothing. Against Brighton he was better and he got himself into a couple of decent positions but, true to form, he couldn't convert.

How many games, weeks, months, seasons does he need to cut it?

OP

We are on opposite sides on this rare occasion. I have tried so hard to look for positives in Roberts. So so hard. I can see he has skill, must be world class in training, but in the heat of battle he just doesn't stand up to the intense Ness

As a substitute he covers numerous positions and doesn't do much wrong. I definitely like him on our bench. But I can not see how he starts a game. at least Rodrigo gets in to the box, even if his finish was lame.

It’s hard to think he’ll ever make it with Leeds, I just feel there’s a decent player in there but it’s not happening on match day. As you say he must be great in training, and perhaps that’s what Bielsa see’s every day?
You can see it happening the next club he goes to hell just explode into form, but, perhaps not.

I don't want him to go. I just want him as an option off the bench. I haven't actually seen him have a terrible game for us, I just haven't seen him have a dominant game!

He is still young, an international, knows our systems, and hasn't let us down. Our bench isn't that strong that we can't do without such a player. give the U23 slower exposure to the first team.

I’m still a deluded one in here, as I definitely see a player in Tyler. I’d not what is holding him back, if it’s psychological or something, but I would put good money on him being a star for another team if he is allowed to go. Just another gut feel.
