Here is my radical line up for Saturday
Meslier/ / Drameh-Struik=Llorente-Dallas? / / KP/ / Raph-Harrison-Bate-James/ / Gelhart
1=not sure about DAllas given his troubles, loss of form so maybe McCarron (can Coops/ Cresswell play LB? )
2=Not that radical as the names missing are not really on form at the minute.
I know, with MBs favourites, it's not got a cat in hells chance of being remotely right. Back to Dallas/ KLich/ Roberts to save the day but I for one would take the gamble.

Agree0 Disagree0

So is this the line up that you think it will be or that you would like to see Leo?

But are Bielsa's team selections ever radical? or more likely entirely predictable?

And even more pertinently
9 defeats in 11 games without KP is an extremely damaging concerning stat for LUFC going forward

LUFC need to find their rabbits foot, four leaf clover and other lucky charms in the hope that KP, Raph, Meslier, Bambam and Llorente in particular have injury free seasons from here on in.

Tbh with a small squad, a list of injuries as long as your arm and no reliable backup, who else is there to pick?

Like is maybe a strong word, because I know it's a roll of the dice line up but for all I do think, I keep coming back to the thought that some out there are seriously out of form and how many points can you give away while you wait for them to come good. We are not winning so that it is not as much of a gamble as if we were sitting top of the table and if Gelhart, Drameh is as good as everyone thinks/ knows, let's just see.
I truly love the man for what he has done for our great club but he does have faults and his stubborn reliance on his favourites to pull us through is one of them. I wonder how many underperformances will he accept before he accepts, time for a change. Every time I see Bate he has class oozing out of his boots and with the vision and quick feet of Harrison I have always harboured a sneaky wish to see him in a AM role.

Unless I've missed that Shacks is injured then I'd swap him for Bate but other than that it's spot on.
We all know it isn't going to happen though, Bielsa will stick with what's not working, why wouldn't he?
If he tried something different for a game or two and it didn't work then fair enough but at least try! rant over!

What is working? Tj?
Leodis picks maybe 11 from 15 regulars.
With ayling phill raph bam and firpo. There etc etc are our best 11. Personally struik. Koch. Rods. Roberts are a Waste of bench or 1st team.
Let’s move on. Tried it or them. Didn’t work most of the time. Give and go.

Aus, Leodis has picked Drameh, a right back at right back allowing Shacks to slot into Midfield along with Gelhart up front as opposed to our current free scoring forward.
Agree with you regarding Koch, Rods and Roberts but Struik is decent (Creswell probably the longer term solution) .
Just those two mentioned changes would be (hopefully) an improvement.

Strujik definitely more than capable, but only at CB for me. Shacks should play the holding role, as he has proved time and again to be capable.

Since his arrival Koch has had two injuries which are each apparently very common. He has just been unlucky to ha e had both so close together. He was said to be our best CB in the games before his first injury, so could yet be a good option, though Llorente currently ahead of him. There is a reason both the Dutch and Belgian FAs are keen for Struijk to commit to them - he is actually a very good CB. Longer term Cresswell will be first choice RCB, with Struijk at LCB - though also being able to play on the right of a CB pairing. With Leo Hjelde also being in the mix for LCB in due course (while also able to play LB) they will all be able to play together if a back three is wanted.

When played in a settled defence Struik has never let us down, showing more than a touch of class. As for Koch, he has not played enough consecutive games to be judged. Hopefully he has has a lifetime of injuries in this short time and only good things from now on. When Cresswell comes into the picture we will have an embarrasment of riches. Sadly, if I was Coops agent I would be looking for a lucrative contract (prob Championship) to see him through.
