There's a lot of division at the moment. People saying the 'haters' are out again. I don't think that is the case. There is a number of fans that think if nothing changes then there is a good chance we could get relegated. That's not been a 'hater' that's having an opinion based on what is happening. Some fans are saying we will bounce back. I am sure we will but for how long? We have just about a first eleven. We can probably cope with one or two absences. Less likely if one of the absences is Phillips or Bamford. We have no ready replacement for either. So when the absentees they are back we will improve. On top of that Dallas is not performing like he was last season - more like a few seasons ago. We have regular injuries and no one really on the bench to cover if more than one is absent. So. ? Ayling, Bamford, Raphinia, Koch Phillips - missing on the bench Roberts, Foreshaw and the youngsters. Not really Premiership stand. If the regulars stay injury free and we keep our better players in January we will bounce back and probably stay up. If we have injuries longer term and/ or we lose players in January we will be somewhere in the bottom four.

Agree3 Disagree0

Good summation Hess cannot argue with that mate.
Looks like the strategy (hope) is to survive to be an established team below the money clubs (Everton good example) with the regular income slowly building us with bigger players.

But we all recognise the squad is too small and will Raphinia, KP wait that long and that’s IF we stay up but that’s why I believe there’s very little money just now.

I love my team but I suppose, like many others, we have tasted the downs a little too often and its not a taste we want to feel again. This comes out in a slight case of realism/ panic as oppose to the rose tinted of some of the other posters. The main and varied points of our concern I will not regurgitate here but suffice it to say, we do not hate, we will Never hate. This is our team and will be so till the day we die, but there are days when they don't play like our team chould (or can) and that just brings our concern to the surface (or rather the keyboard) .

We can save our sanity by getting all of our chest then finishing with the immortal words "ah well on to the next match"

Well said Leo
Hottub Axe referring to posters as ' haters ' is so wrong.

17 Oct 2021 15:25:10
Bazooka, may be I am wrong to call you a "hater" in your opinion.

In my opinion I am right.

Your vile disrespect to other human beings under the cowardly banner of 'being a Leeds fan' is wrong.

See, life is full of differing opinions.

Cheers my Ole very touchy mucka Axe.

Just watched Everton vs West Ham - these are teams that our club need to aspire to at this stage of our development. What both teams share is steady progression after disastrous years. We can only expect steady development but before the start of this season I don't see it. My big concern is that its possible at the end of this season, if we survive, we will probably lose our best players and the manager and his staff. Worried we could regress to page one again.

17 Oct 2021 17:18:34
Bazooka, why does answering your's, and others posts, make me touchy?

Does that mean any answer by any poster to any other poster is "just being touchy"?

What a waste of a post by you.

Thing is Baz, within groups of folk in most walks of life, there are those who in times of trouble will have an instinct to circle the wagons while the group work out the best way forward together - if a hottub is brought into use for this all the better. I’m guessing Axe, OP and the rest of us so called ‘rose tinted’ brigade maybe fall into that category.

Conversely there would seem to be others who’s first instinct is to seek people to blame for the trouble and possibly, in trying to justify the blaming, to question their motives for joining the group in the first place, and to suggest the group would be better without them.

Clueless

Posters express concern understandably given Leeds 3 wins in 16 games this season ( friendlies, EPL and league)

The 1981/ 82 season where Leeds were relegated was most distressing for Leeds fans having lost the first match 5 1 and this season feels eerily similar to it

we express our opinions, all opinions are most welcome I have stated that on numerous occasions.

17 Oct 2021 19:39:58
Baz - fine to express opinions, it the apparent vitriol that sometimes drips from those opinions that is unnecessary, and is possibly what leads to the label of haters.

17 Oct 2021 20:11:54
Here we go again, the moral high ground stake, being once again claimed .

That's how it works here alright . Do ye honestly believe the likes of Radz, VO, AK troll these pages and take psychological offence by what's typed here?

Fear not lads, we will get a little run together soon enough and ye can retrospectively look back on the last 6 games and try tell us, where are the "doomers " now, that ye knew better all along

Then reality will once again kick in, and yet again the squad will be exposed, so at least ye have that to look forward too boys 👍.

17 Oct 2021 20:28:38
Clu : sure one criticises ( without alleged vitriol) because if there is anything I actually do ' hate ' it is relegation

Leo summed it up perfectly above

That's all

Cheers.

Chris indeed
enjoy your Guinness.

17 Oct 2021 20:56:50
The only thing that I hate (regarding Leeds Utd) is the predicament (start to the season) we are in at present.

If that makes me a hater/ negative poster then so be it., I will try to think positive thoughts to see if that changes our luck or failing this just not post anymore.

{Ed014's Note - it’s all about opinions Mezzer and stick to yours mate, say what you see, say what you think.

17 Oct 2021 23:21:58
No Chris, not claiming the moral high ground - just stating facts. As it happens, I recognise that I too have strayed into the occasional vitriol on this site (as elsewhere) , perhaps most notably in relation to individuals working at another club, supported by some posters who used to frequent this site - including Villa Dave - God rest his soul.

Dave’s passing gave me pause for thought, and I’m trying figuratively to bite my tongue when I feel the vitriol rising - and I find I actually feel better for doing so.

17 Oct 2021 23:33:07
Mez - don’t get me wrong, not wanting you or anyone else to stop posting your thoughts. Just trying to help explain why some on here might occasionally be characterised as ‘haters’.

17 Oct 2021 23:41:30
And no Chris, can’t imagine that AR, MB, AK or VO trawl through the comments on here - so what?

18 Oct 2021 07:47:34
Clue, why I said About board members is because Axe was very concerned last Saturday about individuals being singled out on this forum for critique

My main issue is + has for the last few years been with THE BOARD, so that's why I mentioned their names .

Dont think any of them would ever give a F about me moaning so no harm done IMO.

18 Oct 2021 09:07:04
Chris - to be fair, I presume Axe would consider the ‘haters’ label only to apply to a small number on here. Though I guess it is also wearing that some seem only to be interested in, and to magnify what could with the benefit of hindsight be seen as poor decisions made by members of the Board, discounting any mitigating factors and ignoring any good decisions. Of course it’s absolutely fine to criticise, but why not also recognise that they’ve made some good decisions, and that there isn’t a Board out there that hasn’t got stuff wrong.

Not suggesting this applies to all of those on here who tend towards a more negative mindset, as I recognise that you and others do give some balance in your posting.

I know some on here are irritated by my apparently pro Board comments,
particularly about my Uncle Victor (and perhaps some comments by others who’ve have been labelled as rose-tinted) . I’ve made them largely to point out the mitigating factors which some seem to ignore, hoping to provide a little balance. If I seem to have made them ad nauseum, it’s only because one or two on here keep churning out the same unbalanced negative tirade about the guy.

18 Oct 2021 17:05:53
I’m a “hopeful”. did it help us to avoid relegation from the PL? Did it help us avoid admin and points deductions? Did it help us dropping to the depths of L1. Nah. But I still remain a hopeful. We are all different, with different approaches to life and problems. I try to stay positive, as if I fall the other way, I’m a proper piece of turd. Each to our own. Please let’s stop talking about moral high ground. It doesn’t exist. It’s all opinions and perspective. I have respect for each and every one of you, as my fellow Leeds fans. End of! (Except Bermo) .
