Liverpool too good, great passing and deserved the win, VD and Fabino are class.
We started well, think due partly to atmosphere in ER but in the premiership, chances need taking, Rodrigo needs to finish that.
Losing Llorente ( AGAIN) , hurt us, he looks our best CB but can he play a run of games, need that consistency. Agree with others on here that struijk is now a first choice starter, Koch needs to get fit.
The sending off killed any chance, I thought it was a strong but fair tackle and red card harsh, hope we appeal.
All the best to Elliot, horrible injury.
Welcome Firpo to the premiership, tough start for him, I think he will improve as the season goes on?
Have to agree with Alf, Hess as Baz, we didn't recruit well enough and as I've said many times pre season, it will hurt us. Not all about throwing cash in but we needed 3-4 quality additions in correct areas and didn't do it.
Got a Lb 👍, but need 2 MF and a striker, Dallas and klich not the long term answer, Dallas too negative and slows play.
IMO, Connor Gallagher a big miss, he looked at facilities, for me he would've been a starter. Also miss that CMF, Rodrigo and Roberts not it, had many chances now and can't do it, Rodrigo's first touch is poor and I think Roberts better too.
Do hope either Raphi or Harrison can drop more centrally, need someone to, as overrun with wingers. May get stick for it, but not convinced James was the way to go, 25-30mil big money, for me should've been Gallagher and pereira.
I do think James good but did we need him, I think not. Striker or lack of was another big mistake, Rodrigo not a goal scorer or 10 and bamford not prolific IMO.
Had tough opening games and run gets a bit easier now.
Hoping toffees can beat burnley otherwise in bottom 3.

Melbourne White spot on post

the foundations of leeds 1st team squad are really rather flimsy with 3 players removed from it
so it was vital that the club improved the squad with quality this summer

instead Calamity Orta, Stubborn Bielsa and PR Radz have ensured that regression rather than progression is a given this season

it sums up Radz with Forshaw injured again making a mockery of PR Radz arrogant tweet that Forshaw would be the CM Leeds needed.

good but seriously flawed Bielsa will leave end of season and maybe its best that he does as he is starting to look like he has little idea left to further improve Leeds with ; world class coach as some labelled him on this forum he most certainly never has been

Raph will leave and even Leeds uber loyal KP may too be susceptible if Leeds do not progress instead having a mediocre season and Citeh come calling

once KP goes we are really in the doodah as Radz needs to smell the coffee as another season or 2 of Calamity Orta in the transfer window will lead to Leeds perilously in serious danger of returning to the EFL.

Good posts. Bub too obsessed with wingers and his style of play. Mediocrity beckons at best. At worst, a relegation battle.

Baz - I really can’t be arsed to respond to your uber negative posts anymore, as you just will not take any notice.

Melbourne - yes Gallagher looked around but facilities here, he was never going to come here when Palace went in for him. He preferred to stay in London, was best mates with Marc Guehi who had already moved on a permanent contract to Palace and obviously wanted to be coached by Viera, a player who’s playing style he hopes to emulate. We are hardly overrun with wingers, we needed better than Costa and Poveda as competition/ backup. The more negative minded on here would quickly have blamed Orta if Harrison or Raphinha became injured and we had to rely on Costa, or if Summerville failed to spark immediately. I would have loved Pereira here too, but his move to Al-Hilal in Saudi seems to suggest he and/ or his agent were more motivated by money than the quality of football project offered. Given his evident ability, he will not have been short on potential suitors in the Prem and elsewhere in Europe, so I suspect we, and others will have contacted his agent and been put off by his demands. Bielsa would certainly not have wanted to work with a player who seemed to have such an attitude to football.

I'd rather you didn't respond too Clueless because your defence of Calamity Orta becomes increasingly risible and embarrassing for you ; you may ( arrogantly) believe you are always right but you simply are not

no one, not even you, can be content with the past 10 Leeds matches performances and results ( competitive games and friendlies) 2 wins only against Guisely and Crewe plus continued damaging injuries and lack of form/ contribution from Calamity Orta signings Llorente, Forshaw, Koch, Rodrigo, Roberts

still nothing will give me greater pleasure than to be proved wrong because all that matters to me is for Leeds to win their matches etc.

Baz - as I’ve said previously, I am merely trying to point out that things are not as black and white as you suggest, and provide information which challenges the assumptions you appear to be making. You appear to be the one who believes you are right, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say you believe the clickbait media articles you seem to be informed by are right - as you simply ignore any information which contradicts the narrative you have chosen to follow.

You suggest that I’m arrogant, which I assure you I am not. As I’ve
also said on here fairly recently (perhaps you missed it) , I too was highly critical of Orta, and openly expressed those views on here. My views were based on the transfer business during his first year with us, and re-inforced by clickbait media articles which I read. Over time, my views became slightly more balanced, with the arrival Klich (Christensen handling of him caused me to question the manager’s ability rather than Orta’s) Alioski, Saiz etc) . It was the JKA transfer which indirectly led me to question my earlier assumptions. I too saw the clickbait articles you seem to be relying upon, but given Bielsa’s extreme concern for conditioning, questioned why the Club would have bought someone with a poor attitude to fitness. That led me to do a little background reading and check JKAs recent performance stats. The info I found seriously challenged the clickbait narrative on this case, and made me question my earlier assumptions on Orta’s overall record with us. So I did a little more reading and found that there were other factors that I had not previously considered.

So, rather than assuming that I am right, I am just suggesting you too should question the often simplistic narrative that tends to pervade the often mutually reinforcing clickbait and social media.

Thats true Clu you should loom at more tha one source, and also apply some of your own reasoning and 'read between the lines' regardless of the sources. Clickbait is no good alone, but then neither is propaganda such as the news that comes directly from the club or their friends in the media like Phil Hay. Somewhere in between lies the truth.

13 Sep 2021 16:49:15
Alf - to be fair, Phil Hay seems a little more prone to questioning how well things are going at Leeds now he’s working at The Athletic rather than YEP.
