Strange game today.
We were great in many phases, but this is one great Liverpool side, reminiscent of the 80's.
Red card was harsh, but I hope the young lad is ok. Looked nasty. But there was no malintent in the challenge, so all the best kiddo.

Klopp has said Elliot had a dislocated ankle, apparently popped back in by their medical staff before he was taken to hospital. Clearly requires scans etc. Such injuries can apparently take up to three months to recover from, depending on severity of ligament damage etc.
Mark Clattenburg reported to have said Struijk’s challenge wasn’t even worthy of a yellow card. Ref seems to have seen the injury, assumed it was a break rather than dislocated and believed that amount of damage could only have been caused by excessive force / a reckless challenge. It seems very likely that we will appeal the decision, and hopefully Pascal will be available for Friday.

Think we could be a few time's this season Bright. Too many injury prone, and what come's off the bench, Roberts add's nothing. Still MOT.

We are predictable, last season we surprised a few teams but not this season . We have been worked out, Bielsa's stubbornness with his one dimensional team selection, playing his trusted favourites regardless of form will see us having a season of struggles. Hurts to say this and I hope I am wrong, teams evolve in this league but can't see it with us this season. Think our owner, director of football and manager/ head coach are banking on us keeping our premiership place on the strength of last season's performances and minimal investment.

Accidents happen in football. It is a contact sport. I (And everybody) have seen far worse, far more maliscious fouls in games and many only warranting a yellow card. In fact I think this is one only worthy of a yellow. It was purely accidental that after the tackle Struijk fell awkwardly on Elliots ankle. I think the referee was poor in judging the reaction, the consequences and not the tackle itself. Having said that, get well soon Harvey.

Yes indeed it was boys vs men today. We are a long way from that standard but maybe in a few years eh?

If we were Brighty then they were too few to note. We were second best with 11 men. Bac to thorpe arch and a more genuine test on Friday.
