Interesting seeing Dan James interview over the international break, referring back to the reception he got at ER with the Swans after his transfer fell through, including the applause he got when he was substituted. Probably a better response than he ever got at OT when playing for them.
He seems to be genuinely buzzing in anticipation of how he’ll be received now he’s actually playing for us. Given the seemingly mixed reception on social media etc to his signing for us, I really hope the response from our fans in the ground is a good one, and lives up to his expectations.
He seems to recognise that he lost his way as a player while over there, with his naturally exuberant style of play possibly crushed by the weird combination of the inward fear and loathing stalking the corridors there since the Glazers came in and the self entitlement which seemingly exudes from many of the players there.

Being here with Bielsa, who encourages players to take a risk with the ball, and with the great camaraderie and lack of egos within our squad, he should be able to rediscover then improve on his previous best form.

Indeed. We’re reportedly still in contact with O’Brien’s agent, with a view to possibly revisiting the transfer. Obviously it will be up to the player to decide how he responds to Huddersfield’s overtures on a new or extended contract in the meantime.

Seems like a massive difference between the two clubs accounts of the deal! Hudders say we offered 13 million and we claim it was about 4 million!

If was probably 4mil rising to 13 over instalments and depending on certain factors. The Hudds chairman is using the highest figure to try and be more popular with the fans imo.
