Alf it is a tad disrespectful and
certainly NOT accurate in the context of Llorente's career to refer to our most talented current defender Diego LLorente as 'sicknote LLorente'

I refer you to Llorente stats of league and cup matches played last 6 seasons
2015-16 37 matches
2016-17 25 matches
2017-18 32 matches
2018-2019 23 matches
2019-2020 29 matches
2020 -2021 15 matches

so pretty solid regular game playing stats appearances apart from last season when the injury in Spain game early in the season didn't help his cause.

However Llorente was absolutely awesome in those 15 matches and Leeds United were sooooo much better defensively climbing the League : 2nd or 3rd in the form table

so Alf it is also FAR too early of you to suggest that the £18 million spent on LLorente was NOT ' money well spent'

make that call Alf after the end of this season or better still end of season 3 : I recall Radebe had a lot of injury problems in his Leeds career but still was one of Leeds best ever defenders over a 10 year Leeds career!

Really hoping that LLorente can have a virtually injury free season and that this current minor knock is just that and he misses only a game or 2.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 and 25 matches including Cup appearances aren't great Vid since there are 38 games in the league alone.

He's set to miss the first quarter of this season as well according to reports so not a great start for proving himself really.

Yes he was fantastic when he actually was fit but what's the point of having a player that can't play for half a season? I'd rather have someone playing week in week out or if not we need adequate cover and Cooper doesn't pass muster.

Phil Hay has just reported that the injury doesn’t seem too serious. So doubt he’s going to miss a quarter of the season like you suggest.

05 Aug 2021 16:00:18
But Alf, you want someone to play week in and week out. Cooper can do that

Then you say you don't want Cooper

Make up your mind!

as lufc4 and Brighty further down in their posts concur LLorente is out for up to 3 weeks according to all sources I have seen Alf :

so Alf what and who is your ( reliable and accurate) source of Llorente being out for a quarter of a season?

05 Aug 2021 17:20:22
I wantsomeone who can play week in week out but a better and more skillful player than Cooper. Cooper isn't the only defender in the world who doesn't get injuries every other week.

05 Aug 2021 17:26:17
Struijk and Koch for first game? Not that bad, the. Llorente a few games after.

05 Aug 2021 17:43:05
44 games in 2 seasons ain't a high return Baz, the point Alfs making is 2fold

Diego seems to have become injury prone .

Cooper ain't good enough .

As we all know well now when we have to switch around in the defence due to injury the lads seem to play poorly.

05 Aug 2021 17:44:48
so no source Alf? You just made up the quarter of a season.

05 Aug 2021 20:29:38
Like any good reporter I can't name my sources Baz. Sorry but people could lose their jobs if they are identified as leaking news from the club.

05 Aug 2021 21:32:15
hmm had a feeling you would come up with that ole chestnut Alf

so since you appear to claim you are allegedly in the know with inside knowledge of the club goings on ( bit like Whiteman and Bermondsey lol )

any other golden nuggets of inside info to share with us Alf lol ?

06 Aug 2021 07:35:12
My source isn't too deep in the club so I only get limited info Baz. Wish I knew more.

06 Aug 2021 11:16:26
Baz - my source tells me they saw Alf stroking a cat outside Thorp Arch.

06 Aug 2021 14:03:06
Honestly it's someone who works for the club regularly, has access to ER and Thorpe Arch but not someone high up enough to have the absolute top secret info or get the news from board level. So they know more than I do and I would guess Baz and Clu.
