Keepers seem set with Meslier and Klaesson

CB - Ironically beautiful depth here given the trouble last season at times. (In order) Llorente, Struijk, Koch, Cooper, Cresswell/ Ayling.

LB - Firpo new signing obviously his backup is Dallas or Huggins seem to remember Huggins came on vs. Arsenal when we were 4-1 or 4-0 down and did well enough (finished 4-2) . Davis on loan now but does anyone know the situ with Huggins?

RB - Ayling no.1 obviously right now - battle for his backup between Drameh/ Shackleton - if Drameh wins/ winning where might it leave Jamie, can play mid too.

CDM - Phillips about the first name on team sheet for outfield positions when he's available. Sounds like O'brien/ Herrera both being talked about. Koch had some promising minutes there too.

CM - Dallas, Klich (Forshaw getting some minutes again but can't expect/ be relied upon to be available and even if he is is he still as good as when Bielsa labelled him the best mid in the leeds team given a hip injury. Just look at what something similar did to Andy Murray) . Shackleton might start getting more minutes if Dallas/ Klich are not available.

Wings - Raphael and Harrison have the spots nailed when they are fit. Would like one in - wings are vulnerable - get scythed down by lunging defenders and injured - not too bad last season. Love someone in to act as the regular sub - Costa out upgrade to someone like Kent/ James or if there's someone else Bielsa and Victor agree on mutually do it. Poveda has good moments and young enough i'd be keen to give him occasional chances but if he doesn't get better this yr move on next season.

Forwards - Bamford the main man obviously - Rodrigo with his first real chance to shine towards the end of the season for a semi extended period after niggling injuries/ c.v. looks very nice. Bielsa was convinced to give roberts a new deal. similar to Poveda really - young enough (still only 22) that he's worth another season but i trust Bielsa about Roberts potential more than I trust Roberts performances so far. Marcelo says he's worth staying I trust him. Gelhardt and Greenwood might not be too far away and usable in a crisis.

Don't really want to change much more; Pablo, Berra and Casilla are gone now. New mid as Phillips backup and a one in one out if we can find a deal to get rid of Costa.

By my estimation we've spent about 30m on fees already this season (13m for Firpo, 11m for Harrison permanent, Klaesson (2.5m? ) Bate/ Miller and other young deals making up the rest probably) . Not to mention the surprising FIFA ruling in the Jean Kevin Augustin deal which if appeal (asssuming we're appealing) fails we're on the hook for what 18-19m there.

I think a new creative Pablo replacement would be nice but we can't do everything in one season.

Anyone know about Jack Jenkins too? Is he viewed like Gotts/ Mccalmont and heading on loan - probably to leave permanently eventually or has he got a shot at making it?

2 seasons.

Ealing I think there may be a slight question mark over Huggins' attitude. He may feel he warrants more first team minutes than he's been getting or promised.

As Baz will testify, I like him a lot as a player but he may get loaned out for the season. Said all along but for some reason Gummie disagreed with me, we need 2 LBs. Maybe Galan? Btw who is Raphael? Does he play for us? Wasn't he a painter? Not Billy. 😂.

Allegedly we’re very interested in young left back Josh Doig at Hibs, who was apparently left out of their match day squad today. Lots of clubs have previously been reported to be interested in a player touted as the next Kieron Tierney, so his not playing this weekend can’t be taken as meaning that he’s about to sign for Leeds.

Cluey We're surely in for Doig.

Yes, but so are Burnley and Watford, and probably a few others. Where he chooses to go may depend on likely game time.

The prospect of being coached by Bielsa does not seem to be as big a draw for some players. Have heard suggestions that Yangel Herrera may be following Gallagher to Palace, apparently also drawn by Viera’s midfield legend status.
