So would it be correct to suggest that given we are already over half way into July

that apart from Firpo any further newly acquired signing this window will certainly not have time to be Bielsaball fit and read for Man United so they will not be walking straight into the first 11.

So same players to start season as last season plus Firpo minus Alioski

Roll on the start of the new season, the end of the transfer window and particularly the end of the bs clickbait transfer speculation websites.

Like every other pre season again.

Now that we have filled the obvious gap I am not too worried about any other position. I would much rather we wait and get the totally right man than panic buy, last minute, paying over the odds. For instance a combination of Dallas, Klich and Forshaw could do a job in midfield until Mr Right comes along.

Once again Orta's promises fall some way short.

What promise?
Are you confusing 'I'd like' with 'I will?

Baz - strictly speaking, they’re not the same players to start this season as the last one.

For starters, both Llorente or Raphinha joined us after last season had started. Raphinha wasn’t a starter until Arsenal at home, the ninth League game, and Llorente didn’t become a regular starter until the end of February!

Additionally, Rodrigo and Koch only joined two weeks before the start so were nowhere near up to speed with Bielsaball.

Barring injury during pre-season all four should be available to start this season with a decent pre-season and all fully versed in Bielsaball.

Add to that the possible promotion of a couple of u23s who are also up to speed in fitness and on patterns of play. So why so much negativity?, particularly on Orta - who did a cracking job with his recruitment last season with three established internationals and Raphinha, all for reasonable fees, and has already delivered a significant upgrade at leftback. He’s also brought in some excellent recruits for the u23s who were sought by other clubs, and are likely to transition to the first team squad within the next 2-3 years, so obviating substantial future transfer outlays in their positions.

The c. v. impact on the market and the international championships have made it far harder to recruit quickly this summer, with very little significant transfer activity has being done by teams in the Prem and other major leagues to date, so the delay in incomings should not be blamed on Orta.

gnificant sums.

Should also be pointed out that, with the exception of the LB position, anyone coming in will have to earn their starting place before ousting a player that did little wrong last year (whether that's Dallas, Klich or Rodrigo) so they will have time to get "Bielsa fit".

🇨🇦 spot on as usual. Was always a tall order with the Euros, holidays and the albeit receding world health crisis. Can see Victor wrapping up all incoming transfer business by first few days of August. This will mean those players won't be Bub fit until mid-September but there's worse things that can happen.

Excellent post clue. I thought the purpose of the U23s was to promote within, pointless having them otherwise.

That is the idea Farsley but that can't be if they aren't good enough and each season we release or move on lots of 'promising' talents that just aren't good enough.

So do all other football clubs Alf.
