Looking at the latest video of training at Thorp Arch, Firpo seems to be settling in well with the squad. Must be great for him knowing he’s first choice here, within a really happy, cohesive group of players - very different to his experience over the last two seasons at Barca. Good to see him paired with Harrison in at least one of the training drills, already building up the relationship they’ll need on the left hand side.

Also looks like Joe Geldhart and Nohan Kenneh were involved alongside last season’s first teamers in the full range of training drills, would be great to see them both step up this season.

Kenneh may not be the fastest but, now standing at 6 foot 3, he’s powerfully built, technically adept and has good positional awareness, and is confident both at CB and DM. Also seems like a really decent lad, with his community and charity work firmly grounded in his background as a child refugee from Liberia.

You may recall that at the time he joined us he was identified on various football media sites as a’wonderkid’, with the potential to be an absolute beast of a baller. Would be superb to see those predictions come true with us at Leeds. Already an established England youth international, hopefully one day he’ll follow KP into the senior squad.

Very good, interesting and informative posts from you as usual Clu 👏

My question to you is whom do you believe of the current U23s will emulate Pascal and ( eventually) break into the Leeds United first team ( squad) week in week out?

For me Gelhardt, Drameh and Cresswell have the best chance and I am interested to see how Kenneh continues to develop/ progress.

Kenneh would certainly add some much needed height to the team - be great to see him develop.

Baz - the three you list would seem to be near certainties, and I would probably now add Kenneh to that. Somerville and Greenwood have a chance of doing so. Previously I would have included Huggins and Gotts, but at least one of those seems to be on the way out - though I do wonder whether being told they would be free to find a new club may be a bit like Casey, not wanting to hold them back if they want to go, to settle into a first team role.

With Davis now apparently being loaned to Bournemouth, I would think that the coming season may be make or break for him, and for fellow loanees McCalmont and Bogusz, as to whether they are seen to be likely to make the grade in due course.

Not sure Somerville or Greenwood ready yet. Only seen limited highlights but not ready for prem in my opinion.

Aus - indeed. Baz asked who might make it eventually, not this season.
