Scary news coming out of Elland Road. After so many weeks of Alioski heading out the door I now read that he may be staying! Surely a step back and a blatant sign of misplaced Bielsa loyalty if it is proved true. I would show him the door (with a thank you) and straight away bring in any number of Left Backs twice as good. Admitted he tries hard and is the joker of the dressing room but sometimes his defending is the joke. We all love a trier put we also want European Football which means players above this mans pay grade.

Couldn’t disagree more on this occasion Leo.

Alioski shouldn't be our starting LB next year, we need better, however I would 100% keep Alioski. His versatility makes him a great squad player from the bench and if someone new comes in you know he can come on and play competently if they pick up an injury.

Really hope Alioski stays, very effective squad player at the very least.

I don't think anyone could argue that at times Alioski has been a liability last season and altho the only way I would accept him is as a bench warmer and pray that he doesn't come on. "Competent" is not good enough next season.

Tbh we need a class LB and a cover. Alioski can do the job (as a cover) . As well as a RB, we are fortunate that Billy played all season without any injuries. But just imagine he is out for a few months…. Well we got Gotts, Dallas (although he is much better in the midfield in my opinion) .
So I hope we get proper LB and our youngsters can step up to cover RB position.
We are talking about Europe sometimes, well then we should have a bigger squad of a proper players. I don’t see Alioski doing the job week in week out. Bring in proper LB.

More positions on the pitch than you can have on the bench Leo so you need to have a couple of versatile guys in the squad. Not many of them are top players in any one position. These guys are only cover for specialist players when you're in a bind and don't have anyone fit in a position available, we can't afford to pay £150k a week for a utility player like a Pool or a City can so competent isn't that bad (better than playing a specialist player out of position anyway) .
Also yes he had some bad games, in his first top flight season, but also had some very good ones.

The way Bielsas system works we already have a number of more than competent covers. Drameh, next year, for RB. Koch for KP etc.
