Nice to get past the magic 40 points and hopefully can look towards next season as well as trying to finish strong.
I would prefer to tinker with team, have a few players that would benefit hugely with some game time. Now is the time to tinker slightly and give fringe players a chance, could save millions, if one or two can step up.
Should we be playing 3 CB's, is that what Beilsa sees happening or will he stick with just the 2?
Sick of saying it, but alioski is not good enough and on his way out, do we not have a young LB to try out, think most on hear feel LB a must.
He was at fault for goal, he was ball watching and wandered into box and left huge space for them to overlap.
Have to give praise to Lorente, he is improving and think be good to see him and Koch as a pair.
If had my way, would drop alioski, play Dallas at LB ( if no other coming thru) and try a under 23 like gerhart.

Bielsa plays 3 CB when the opposition have 2 strikers, otherwise it is 2 CB.

Davis is the young left back that has been in and around the first team squad all year but rarely trusted by Bielsa, I’d like to see him get a game before the season ends.

I think pre season is important for the kids, those picked to train with and around the first team, particularly whilst we have some late returning internationals, will have a chance. With a full pre season working around Bielsa we will see how much he rates and trusts them.

Melbourne, with you on your suggestion for Dallas. From what the media is saying Alioski is going so I think its fair to give someone else in the squad a chance to gain PL experience.
From a team winning perspective I don't want a youngster put in at left back. I would prefer Dallas to take that position as he is a good left back and the defence is actually improved by his input.
Obviously that frees up a midfield position for one of the major talents in our U23 squad (my preference would be Gelhardt as he has already played good standard league football) . If the youngster makes a mistake we still have a defence and keeper to alleviate the error. As we have seen with Alioski, defender mistakes are costly and that would put pressure on any young fullback coming in (Davis is phenomenally fast but still isn't a PL left back)

Can't argue with your reasoning Axe but I believe Gelhardt is more a No 9 whereas Greenwood could operate the No 8 or 10 role. I know what you are saying about Davis but I would still like to see him given a run at FB.
PS Does Gotts operate at FB?

Interesting debates lads but in all likelihood El Magico Bielsa will continue to play his strongest team

which therefore this season at least will not include the likes of Drameh Geldhert, Greenwood, Summerville.

Next season these players need to develop further their game to get a chance of being picked.

Leo,

Gelhardt is 5ft 8.5in. Can not see him ever becoming a No9/ centre forward in a Premiership side. He neither has the pace of a Vardy or the belligerent talent of a Rooney. The lad can only be looking at the No10 role at this level.
