This is a good thing for anyone with rich owners but a bad thing for football if true. I don’t like the idea of a filthy rich owner losing millions daily to be at the top of the league knowing if he falls out of love you could be up the river without a paddle.

As we know, the rich rule the poor, and unfortunately football is going the same way.
I think we have forgotten where and why football started, it needs some surgery, this might just be a start.

FFP in principle is a good idea but the current system is faulty. It needs revamping but not necessarily removing.

Show me the proof that Villa, have been penalised for breaking FFP rules, if you can I will hold my hand up.
I think there have been 29 clubs, who have been punished for breaking the rules, A C Milan being the last, so contrary to what you might think Villa are not in that list.

Financial fair play has not and will never exist in modern football sadly.
Barca making millions in losses every month but bailed out by the local council with tax payer money, City with a 'world record stadium sponsorship' that just happens to be from the owners friends company and just happens to cover all their losses?
Only real financial fair play would be to set a transfer spend cap, a player value cap and a wage budget cap. Hands up anyone who thinks that will ever happen. anyone? . in the back maybe? . no? Me neither.

Venereal Your explanation is bipolar or reverse logic. Your explanation is the very reason why such rules are a good idea. Admittedly the rules aren't terribly clear or well managed but that's a different debate. The eradication of such rules only helps rich owners buy the league with no consequence. The league is already abundant with excessive amounts of money. This development if true would make it worse and seems to be a reaction to the failed breakaway. The league should never be about "you're only tops because you're money" otherwise you'll rarely repeat the Leicester story. Any fan whom desires money utterly to rule the game is a bit off in my opinion.

As for Vile Dave and his reverse logic 😉 he also posted about FFP on the Vile Banter site and it further suggests VD doesn't really want FFP at all, thus making it even easier for the richest clubs to continue buying the league. Good one VD! 🙄
Ironically Vile Dave's post on the Vile Banter Site generated ZERO 🤣 responses ( of' interest ') yet on the same hand VD has the gall to berate Canada for actually replying generating interest at least for us Leeds Banter punters if not for him and his very, very dodgy narrative of wanting FFP abolished!

I agree that's the way I would like the game to go Gummie but I can't see the playing field ever being level. The problem is that even if such a cap were imposed richer clubs would find a way around it such as supplementing wages with property or something else. Like we see with the Barcelona and Citeh examples teams will still look to cheat their way around the rules and the authorities aren't that bothered about/ able to do anything about it.

VD you really are a walking contradiction. Not so long ago you’re on here hiding behind defending Berm and his right to post (in the main) differing views.
You acknowledged people’s right to challenge Berm back but quite rightly, NOT allow personal comments.
Then you post your FFP post and Canada simply and quite read only highlighted the FACTS that Vile had been investigated by PL upon their promotion, you can still find many stories covering the inflated value of Vile Park prior to sale. Just as Derby did, Wednesday etc etc . all wriggling out of any sanctions knowingly tweaking the FFP to their clubs advantage whilst the majority adhere to the rules.
So VD yes, you are completely correct on your assertion that your club does not appear on any list. You know you dodged a bullet i’m not being found guilty but your answer to such manipulative actions, is to have no rules at all!
Certainly an interesting position certainly not a surprising one.
However, my actual reason for posting was your response to Canada highlighting Vile WERE investigated rather than just gritting your teeth and playing the “not guilty card†or what about Derby Wednesday etc etc. you make personal derisory comments in relation to Canada’s own financial acumen.

We all know viledave only started the thread to cause trouble, as we all know they broke by rules by a massive margin but never got punished (not the only ones! ) .
Odd as we don't even break rules and get punished, maybe we should pay bribes, take incriminating photos or blow whoever they have done to get away with it.

Only “fair†way to do ffp is if every club works to the same budget, not percentage based on revenue etc etc. If every club has the same set transfer budget and same wage budget then it’s down to recruitment which would be a level playing field and then on skill set of the squad and coaches. Oh but then VAR would rear it’s badly used head to uneven the playing field again.
It will never happen just like villas double standards on fair play!
