It was always very risky / almost foolish to heavily rely on one player to score the majority of goals ( Bamford) , without a like for like goalscoring replacement for that player if he gets injured
Anyone have any news on Bambam injury we need him playing and scoring?
Rodrigo's career stats are not that of a prolific goalscorer but I hope Rodrigo does score 4 or 5 in the remaining 10 games because so far he has been a fairly big disappointment in lack of goal contributions added to his general form, fitness and prone to injury.
Last summer Orta and Bielsa really should have sought and acquired a proven goalscore.

Baz Disagree. Proven goalscorers at this level cost big money. Would have been a gamble. PL status for next season is virtually assured. Will be when we defeat Fulham ending capital hoodoo. This summer is when you recruit such a player.

If we went / go down it’ll be the biggest mistake ever not recruiting a goal scorer, if we survive (which looks a dead cert) then it was a clever summer. It’s a pointless discussion in the fact of we won’t know until we know.

Said many times before belisa don’t like goal scorers we could get a nkeita type but he wouldn’t get played
We would need a number 9 like Bamford who works hard and scores and they’d cost a lot of money even Rodrigo who is Bamford a cover is not a goal scorer as that’s what the manager wants
Hopefully Bamford is back soon as it will show how good he is and how much he will be missed
Honest question has belisa ever played with a proper 9 and out and out striker like champ man or sniffer Clarke?

Roberts is the back up for Bamford. Bielsa had said so before so let's see what he can do. Unlucky not to score in the last few games tbh.

He had fernando Llorente at Bilbao, he isn’t a runner so can only assume they used him as a target man.

That’s interesting away days. Hopefully he brings that to Leeds some of our games are crying out for a plan b and a target man.

Plan B was Chelsea was it not?
Lost Bam Bam after 35 mins and unusually we did not dominate possession or shots on target stats against our opponents)
Rodrigo (cannot play the Bamford role) was a different outlet, admittedly not by choice. But it’s because Chelsea were so good that’s why we didn’t play like normal.
Hang on Bubs Removed Rodrigo as striker to seal the point and did not allow us to go marauding forwards at every opportunity to leave unnecessary gaps. (man utd away)
Both full backs in particular Ayling stayed home compared to normal so help me out was this Plan A 0.5 or something different, alternative to what we normally do.
Either way we are in a much better place than many teams with a myriad of alternative plans and boring negative football.
Put plan A on a gold pedestal with a protective screen around it I say.
