I think Cooper had one of his best games in a Leeds shirt against Wolves.

He was solid as was Struijk. Developing a good partnership.
Actually like have a left footer on the right as so many teams play with wingers who cut inside.

Yes he did, should still have scored though.

Alf, agreed with your post as to Cooper's performance against Wolves, and the observation that the partnership between him and Struick has developed and improved.
It was good to see that neither of the cb was taking chances with the extra pass when under pressure. Earlier this season it looked like they had been told that keeping possession was at any cost. Some of the passing out from the back was 'Brazilian' in intention but made by a Championship standard foot. On watching the last couple of games I think I have seen a more pragmatic approach to being high pressed. All of the back 5, at some point in the match, were prepared to send the ball long and release the pressure on the defence. Obviously I am not a Euro B coach so its just a normal bloke making observation that may be rubbish. However, I did feel our defence looked a lot more confident overall and they still worked it from the back as often as it was prudent.

The unfortunate knock-on from the big hoof up to the front man is that we don't have a target man to take advantage. I am not decrying Bamford at all, he is running his butt off for the cause, he just hasn't got the physical attributes to be successful at that area of the game and with our pattern of play there isn't much use for it. Mobility is our key.

It was a similar situation with Harrison. Semedo (something like that anyway) was bigger and stronger. There should be no shame in losing out in those situations. I thought Semedo showed how experience and physical prowess is an advantage in the PL. Harrison is good, but is only 6months in to learning how to cope at this level.

I am still very happy at how we are approaching each game. I love watching us, even we are a couple of goals down. But I would say that both Burnley and Sheffield Utd have looked better than we do now on their first seasons up and they were less financially backed when they first came up. (However we are only putting out £23m of our summer outlay on a regular basis Meslier and Raphina, with £30m Rodrigo, £17m Llorente, £12m Koch and £16m Costa having teething problems this season) .

It's easy to say he should have put it to the left or right and scored but first and foremost the objective is to hit the target and ge did that. Many times players try to go left or right and end up missing completely and we scream at them to simply hit the target. Had Rui not played out of his skin Cooper would have scored. He did everything right just unlucky to come up against an in form keeper - can't blame him for that.
