Been some really interesting posts on here, including comments from the Ed about Bielsa and his tactics. Got me thinking.

My dream, which I suspect is the same as Radz and most on here, is to see us consistently competing for champions league spots as a stable premiership team.

Lots on here debating Bielsa's ability to deliver top level success in European leagues. To be fair, he was a bit of a left field appointment, to take an underachieving club out of the championship without throwing aside most of the players! Yr one, play offs achieved, year two Championship and promotion delivered, year three, in itself a first with Bielsa, hopefully prem survival in a reasonable way. All along he has done it by winning fans all over the world for how we play whilst gradually upgrading the squad.

How many years before we could be realistic champions league contenders in a regular basis? Could Bielsa achieve it, we can debate that, but will he be around long enough, probably not!

So for me, Bielsa is about continuing the transition from championship also rans to premiership contenders, building the brand by doing it in an exciting way. That's a job he's definable suitable for.

But the key for me is also doing it in a way that there is a legacy to pass onto and help the next coach who will be able to deliver that next stage. So enjoy Bielsa because I think he'll keep us in the prem playing attractive football but the really important coach appointment will be the next one.

Totally agree Spani. Just hope you are wrong with the "around long enough, probably not". You are probably right but I just hope that he cannot resist a challenge. Europa league, Champions League, Prem winners, and again, and again, and.

my dream is always the same, to be the best we can be and get the best results possible. It was the same in league one, I don't care who it is against I enjoy a win and a defeat kills me and ruins my weekend!

I have respect for the best results possible this is what I think wilko did early days over achieving and what Grayson did.

now with belisa I think we have a good squad and good players so I just hope we do the best we can, of course we may get beat by the top teams but I don't want us losing to the worst (of course I know football don't work like this)

the main thing I pray is we learn from our mistakes, we cut out the silly goals we concede, we learn to break down poor teams who play a certain kind of way and we start to be a bit more consistent

results first style for me comes a very distant second, that said often belisa manages to do both so that's it a dream combination.

Spanishleeds, agree to the point of ; any new manager is not going to do the job in MB way, it will be in their way and not the previous manager, as always.

Spanish, for me it would be non other than Pochettino when MB decides to call it a day. Would he come to Leeds though,? I doubt it, but who knows, maybe he’ll bring M’bappe with him too.!
Supertramp song suddenly comes to mind.

My dream is a bit more complicated as it involves 12 bottles of peroni and a hotel room full of hookers and a really good kebab.

Which one OP? Asylum?

17 Feb 2021 09:25:34

True, more appropriate Alf than Dreamer. 😉.

My dream is to watch football like we’ve been playing. but more consistently and with enough bench and quality and interchangeability to relive European nights.

I’d like us to get at least a trophy or two before I pop me clogs*. but if we are playing at a level of being able to win every game we play, have a good bunch of lads who are decent folk willing to play for each other and die for the team. and we play great football, the rest will come.

*been a supporter of Leeds for 51 years this April. so by law of “years of man are three score and ten” I have 12 more years to give to my love of the club. before I don my white rose shirt for the very last time.
