Whilst I am disappointed with the performance I am relieved that a distraction is out of the way.
As many are pointing out we do not have the quality depth to fight on two fronts. In fact many would say that we do not have the depth to fight on one front.
I believe selection fell between two stools. Certainly some players needed resting but I would have gone further with selection and paired Casey with Cresswell and Gelhart with Greenwood. (I know it's with hindsight but) they couldn't have done much worse and I do believe in partnerships on the same wavelength. I would also have played Meslier, surely goalkeepers are the last that need a rest.

But reserve goalies need to show what they can do in a first team game situation.
