BZ, if we have to rely on Bam Bam for all the goals we are in serious trouble, way too many misses and it won't change over the long haul. Rap and Rod look likely candidates for a few but conversion rate is a concern.

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Nov 2020 22:46:32
1970 yes indeed . to be fair to Bambam he has got 8 'legitimate' goals in 9 games which is good going

But indeed we need the likes of Rodrigo and Raphina to step up to score regularly like Pablo has been in previous seasons for us. It is absolutely vital!

. we also need more goals too from Harrison, Costa, Klich, Dallas etc.

24 Nov 2020 10:40:40
Bamford is not the problem 8 goals in 9 and people still moaning?

wingers chipping in with goals is a huge problem how many have they scored this season I think it is 2 between them all.

then goals from midfield klich and Rodrigo are good but others in middle of the park won't get more than 5 between them which ain't great

then our style of play is and always has been the biggest problem, sit back, soak it up and we will never score. wovles did this on us but then so have wigan, Millwall, Ipswich and other poor teams

as always the biggest problem is Belisa himself. goal from a set play. don't want them, long ball? not allowed to do that! how about someone who can head in a cross? not on his watch

when plan b is try plan a again teams will struggle and plan a doesn't always work and is easy to play against.

24 Nov 2020 05:39:41
Back in the McAllister speed lampatd Gerard days they banged them in for fun.
Our midfield def need to score more. I think given time Rodrigo will.

So Berm had moved on from constantly moaning about KP to Bielsa I see.
If his predictable style gets us in europe will he turn the other cheek so to speak and get a Bielsa tattoo?
All joking aside Berm there is a lot more than a plan a, you just cannot see the differences. That's why we often look a lot better in 2nd half of games.
Still more he can change of course but needs the personnel to do it. Remember the vast majority of what he is working with were average championship players!

24 Nov 2020 13:31:27
I disagree.
Costa klich harrison pabs meZ Dallas Phillips and prob ayling are not average champ.
We needed strengthening and have lor Koch and rods and Ralph. So not a lot of depth but enough to have hope.

24 Nov 2020 13:44:41
Ha Canada indeed

a Bielsa tat to complement the KP tat for Berm 😆

Have a little perspective Berm from your latest agenda : previously KP now Bielsa

The reality is a newly promoted team Leeds outplayed a ' top 6' EPL club in Arsenal and created 24 goal chances.

It's very fine margins as with better finishing we would have won by 2,3 or more clear goals. The matchplay is fine otherwise.

The issues is that the players themselves are the ones who need to step it up in one key aspect: getting their shots on target / sharpening up their finishing which should be very attainable for most of them.

Berm it's simply disingenuous and illogical to label Bielsa as even a problem for Leeds let alone the ' greatest problem '! Bielsa is far more a blessing than anything else.

P. S. Llorente is very good in the air so hopefully when he plays we will be better to score some headed goals from corners.

24 Nov 2020 19:37:37
I have said the same about since day one

He is great but also has weaknesses

We are better in second half as we are super fit and have the ball a lot so we simply wear the other team down it is a great plan and works but is not a plan b . It is not that I can’t see it it is that he ain’t there.

It is not a moan about belisa More statement he got us up and we are fairing well and playing great football so very well played belisa however the frustration and same problems still exists although like bv I agree Lorente could be the answer in Both boxes.

24 Nov 2020 21:38:29
I hope Llorente is the answer and we get to see him soon.

24 Nov 2020 22:36:19
I don't think any manager or coach would have got as much as Bielsa has done out of this set of players. Yes he has his flaws but so do all managers. Do you think Pep or Klopp would be winning the league with our squad? They have the best players I the world at their disposal and still lose games.

Padbameyang has exceeded expectations this season but even the world's best don't score every single game, we need others to step up but as usual the goals seemingly dry up from other sources so we are left relying on one man.

25 Nov 2020 00:16:54
I agree alf no one could get as much from the players as belisa. he is the best coach in the world. if you want to improve your players and get the most from them playing pretty football you need a great coach and belisa is the best

however if you want to win football matches and get the most points on the board you need a great manager and I don't think belisa is

belisa and pep will get the best from there players

wilko and Morino will get the best from the games

why belisa teams are great to watch but frustrate and why wilko and mournino teams normally over perform

pep can lose a league with a great team like city

wilko won the league with a team like leeds that had no right winning the league

I love belisa and respect him but always think there will be flaws and it will be brilliant one game and very frustrating the next

wilko was poor some games but we got the best result possible most of the time.

I love Leeds United Legend Sgt Wilko a great manager

However, Berm I do think you are slightly over eulogising Sgt Wilko, as the season after we won the league Leeds finished 17th and didn't win a single away game.

And it wasn't a surprise to me that Leeds won the league in 92 as we had finished 4tn the previous season and CRUCIALLY the Leeds board were truly excellent in backing Wilko in the transfer market 3 seasons in a row with the signings of Wallace, Dorigo, hodge, McAllister, Strachan, Chapman Sterland, Lukic, Whyte, Fairclough . these were all very good players. Leeds had assembled a very good side . we had every right with that side to win the league. Similar level of quality players as Man. U, Arsenal and Liverpool.

WILKO WAS GREAT NOT LEAST BECAUSE HE HAD A VERY GOOD SQUAD OF PLAYERS.

25 Nov 2020 10:18:14
I can see what you ate saying about 92 season

The back pass rule killed Lukic (according to Strachan) and really hurt us. Plus few players needed replacing but was left and no one could account for cantina leaving the way he did

But the year he got us up he did well

The year we come fourth we shouldn’t of and the year we win the league we shouldn’t of

Wilko, Strachan, Gary mac, and many others all said we should not of won that league which is why fergie was so angry

Sadly just as wilko fixed is (getting Radebe, bowyer and Martyn with youngester coming through but he was sacked)

Wilko for me is the only Leeds manager who has ever over achieved the rest including the don should of won more)

As for belisa great coach will get best from players but not best from team and they are two different things. look at pep at city same thing.

25 Nov 2020 10:39:45
Man U choked under the pressure and bottled it at. tne end with defeats to Forest, West Ham and Liverpool

But over a very long 42 game season as it was in those days you finish where you deserve to finish

The facts are Leeds finished 4 points ahead of 2nd place Man United and in the head to heads with the teams immediately below them Man U, Sheff Wed, Arsenal and Liverpool

Won 2 Draw 6 Lost 0

No other team was better than Leeds.

25 Nov 2020 21:47:31
So who do you think would do a better job with our squad than Bielsa Bermo? Realistic names please.

25 Nov 2020 23:26:52
thats a hard one alf. firstly I think a to put a different manger in we would have to give them a chance to bring in own players so hard to put say Tony pulis in as they are not his style of players

I don't think any manager in the world would get more out of the players (maybe pep) however I think with a different manager we would end up with more points on the board over the course of the season, a manager who can mix things up, bring a true plan b, change the course of a game hold out for a win etc.

I would of said Wilde but he is having a mare of a season but what he has done with shelf Utd since taking over in league one is nothing short of a miracle and far surpasses what belisa has done with leeds in my honest opinion, dean smith is someone who I greatly admire as is Molyes who is doing wonders with a poor West Ham team. personally one of my favorite managers in recent times is David Wagner. he got a useless huddelfield team into the prem playing decent stuff and getting (for the team) amazing results. I think if wager took over the football might drop but the points total would be higher after 38 games with us not having to be moan the same things week in week out as we do under belisa.
